I want to see how beck does when teams play short to intermediate zone, leaving alot of options deep.

Not bad overall.Beck's real challenge is going to be moving this offense against a simple cover two. If nothing else, Grossman can force defensive coordinators to be more multiple in how they attack him.

If one coverage-based defense can eliminate John Beck from a gameplan, then he's not an NFL QB, but assuming he can, we may have something here.

The question posed was "How far can Beck take us"?

My first thought was that he could take us as far as Reston. But he surprised me by performing well against the Colts. So now I'm thinking he can take us as far as Tyson's Corner.

But seriously, for me, I think I've been hesitant to trust in Mike Shanahan enough to think that Beck could do the job. After Spurrier, Zorn, and Vinny, it's not easy for me to trust again. But I like the way Shanny is trying to build this team and I'm trying to keep an open mind about Beck as our interim starter for a year or two until we land that Franchise QB I think we need to put us in the playoff picture on an annual basis.

Nevertheless, the Colts are notoriously bad in preseason. So, I'm tempering any enthusiasm I have for Beck based on that.

On the other hand, the Ravens defense is never bad. They come at their opponents hard every time they play, even in preseason. If Beck plays well against the Ravens, then I'm going to start to think that he might be able do a good job as the Skins starting QB for the next year or two.
