Injuries have killed us all year and yesterday was just more of the same.

I think Portis is a little disturbed by the way he's been forced to run the ball. He gets very few sweeps or zone-blocking techniques after we were able to dismantle the Lions with it (The lions D line and young LBs are very good, in my opinion.)

I agree with the playcalling as usual. Saying Gibbs' doesn't have the players is just foolish. I'm sorry, but you can say that about any team and it's a weak excuse. Right now he's being so timid in his playcalling I'm suprised he's not hiding behind a bench calling plays. He mixed it up well at times, but when it mattered he was so unwilling to take a single chance that it really hurt us (again)

(again)

Playcalling wasn't bad and running the ball at the end of the game is what every sane coach does to run the clock out. Incomplete passes stop the clock and even if you don't gain a yard on the ground, you burn time off the clock or at least force the other team to use all their timeouts.

Say all you want about Gibbs' playcalling, but this is how he has always called plays and 3 super bowl trophies and four super bowl appearances will tell you it works.

Like I said before, it all starts up front. Our RB's don't have holes to run through, and our QB doesn't have enough time to take "shots" downfield.

Let's not forget all the penalties the o-line has drawn this year. The o-lines inconsistency has killed us.

portis isn't the problem, our o-line is sub par, we need jansen back another quality guard and a center, and I'm not so sure I'm sold on samuels, especially for the amount of money he will want in the off season, I say we either draft mike williams in the first round or we address the o-line heavily

Isnt the play in question the same one someone either got hurt on or we had some sort of penelty? Therefore making Dallas not have to waste a time out anyways?

There is nothing wrong with running out the clock but the key objective is to run the clock out in order to keep the opposition's offense off the field, 3 straight run's when you know the defense is stacked for it is not going to get that job done, obviously. You have to do whatever you have to do to get first down's that's what keep's offenses off the field, 3 running play's against a team with let's say 1 timeout will net you around all said and done a minute and a half, if there is more than 2 minutes left when you get the ball in that situation you have to play to win and try to get the first down not just take the clock down to 1:30 or 1:00 and hope you stop them.

I agree that Portis need's more blocking but that's part of my point he want's huge holes like he had in denver, and when he's not getting them he does not run hard, you can't tell me after watching the 2 of them play that Bett's doesen't run harder, and more determained than Portis, bottom line if we had the best offensive line in the league we wouldn't need Portis, any back could be productive behind them, great back's are supposed to make the O-line better not crawl into a shell afraid of hitting a hole that may or may not be there.
