I just saw on NFL Network that we resigned Santana Moss to a three year deal.

I'll second that.

Latest compensation I've heard is allegedly a 5th and a 7th

Report: Vikings, Redskins agree to trade, only if McNabb agrees to contract | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/26/report-vikings-redskins-agree-to-trade-only-if-mcnabb-agrees-to-contract/)

SOunds like the only thing left is for McNugget to restructure his contract. Which if he doesn't want to play ball, then we should keep him till the end of training camp and then cut him. If that's how he wants to play it.

Bruce Allen very tepid on the contract he gave Moss, but it's a functional guarantee for the upcoming season. And so that basically just forces the team to get rid of youth on the back end of the preseason. We won't be able to keep Kelly, and Banks, and Austin unless someone ends up on IR before cut down date. And with Niles Paul and Aldrick Robinson in the mix, there will have to be a quick decision made somewhere. Someone we drafted isn't going to get to play in the actually games he was drafted to play in, barring injury.

How silly would it look if they still went after Holmes now? I get bringing back Moss because he's your guy, but if you land Holmes, Moss is now your three, at best. That's good for this year's offense, but I just wouldn't see the point.

Love that we're keeping Moss, I think we'll still go after another WR though.

Picks for McNabb? Pure gravy.

Who's your #2?Well, our one from last year, Armstrong. But I've been so high on Hankerson since the end of the college season, I could see him playing his way onto the field on an every down basis.

That's a good problem to have, at least. Hard to have too much depth at the receiver position. But if you end up cutting future performers because you don't have space on the roster, then you have too much depth.

I firmly believe the injury bug is probably going to make this signing look good. I just don't see where Moss fits in with everyone healthy. Just remember: I didn't see the logic in drafting LaRon Landry at safety with Sean Taylor already in the fold. And that...well, Landry is perhaps our only building block right now. The ends can justify the means.

Biggest concern: we do actually need the depth, but have to expose a valuable player to waivers trying to pass him through to the PS simply because he didn't have enough of a chance to earn his spot on the 53 man.

Carlos Rogers Hands>>>>>>>>Braylon Edwards Hands........I'd be PISSED....I'd rather put my faith in the hands of our current WR core w/o any FA WRs added, that's how wack Edwards is to me. He'll put a deep TD out of his ass every now and then, but he's garbage.

Edwards had only like two drops last year out of 100 or so targets (not exact numbers of course).

Yes he had the dropsies in Cleveland but he has significantly improved as a reliable receiver, thanks in no small part to spending time with Henry Ellard
