Slightly OT but I didn't want to start a new thread on the topic. Does anyone feel like Kurt Warner is a little biased against any and all QB's? I don't know why but I feel like he's ultra critical of anyone that isn't an UDFA fighting for their very life.
Like one second he was talking about how Cam Newton needed to learn how to work hard and be dedicated to learn the playbook, then after Florio said there were reports of Newton working with Weinke for 12 hours a day Warner started talking about working smart.
Maybe I'm overanalyzing but for some reason I don't like Kurt Warner the analyst.
No your probably correct. All he's doing is spitting what almost every other media pundit pushed down our throats.... that Newton was not a very hard worker. He could have probably answered a lot better then he did. In other words instead of working out with some hack teaching him to throw better or take a better drop back he could have been studying the plays and working with his WR's. But like you said I'm guessing no matter what was said he would still have said Newton needs to work harder and smarter.
Maybe he just feels like the UDFA's need to work extra hard to prove their worth and the drafted QB's don't work as hard because they already know they have a job. I don't know, he's an idiot.

Actually I was about to take back my initial assumptions about Warner being against every QB that was a first round pick as he just threw in a vote of confidence for Jay Cutler. So it's not that he's against first round picks he's just a raging racist :D
Though the more likely explanation is he can't say anything bad about a QB working under his boy Mike Martz.

you know, orton would be a good signing here... but i don't think that's going to happen.
I think we resign rex, moss and brown, we make a play for another WR (though the most likely guys we could get without throwing a billionty dollars would be Br Edwards or Pl Burress).
I think jenkins is pretty likely, then we need an OT/OG type, a starting CB, and a good LB and DL guy, though both could be more mid level. I'd love tulloch or similar at LB, and at CB rogers is probably the most efficient buy, though again, I think the skins are letting him walk... which means we need to get somebody, cromartie, ike or JJ being the most likely.
For OL, i'd love doug free, just to steal him from dallas (not that he wouldn't help us out). D Joseph would be great too, but not likely.
can't wait. hopefully we dont massively overpay the wrong guys again. (btw, most of the WRs are thrash character wise, which is sad. I still think edwards or plax (if he's ready to go) could help us the most, but i realize the off field red flags are, you know, huge).

OK, on my ProFootball Weekly app...
Baltimore has told a few top Vets their services won't be needed this year.
RB Willis McGahee
NT Kelly Gregg
TE Todd Heap
WR Derrick Mason
I'd be interested in the NT and maybe the WR.

I was surprised when I read this news, since Ravens convinced Mason to continue playing after considering retirement (two years ago I believe). I don't want anyone except for Gregg, he might fill in NT nicely for us.
Those Ravens moves look like cap cuts more than anything. I'd bet a few of those guys end up back with them at a lower price tag.

I agree unless they get a really good offer elsewhere.

Dolphins rumored to be making a trade offer for Orton.
Miami Dolphins: Will Dolphins land QB Kyle Orton? - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-hyde-miami-dolphins-nfl-lockout-0720110725,0,5796737.column?track=rss)
Although I do not believe we need any WRs (unless we can get Rice), Malcolm Floyd is now not re-signing with SD since Vincent Jackson is going to sign his 1 year, $11+ million contract.
Denver is looking to unload Orton quickly. Doesn't hurt to see what they would be willing to take.
