I'd rather get Alan Branch without having to give up picks.

You don't think they'd take Haynesworth straight up?!?

I'm not too big on Holmes, solid player but not a dominant WR. I'd take him but not for big time $

I think Moss's career numbers are better than Holmes. of course he's a little longer in the tooth.

I'm really torn on this one.. On one hand Moss is one of my favorite players of recent Redskins teams and I'd hate to see him leave.. However he has some infuriating drops, is 32 and has battled leg injuries (although he's toughed them out) in recent years.

On the other hand, while Holmes seems to signal "same old Redskins" he's 26, a SB champ, proven clutch performer, great hands/speed combination and a top 15 WR in the league. If it wasn't for his off the field issues he would be as coveted of a FA receiver there ever has been on the open market.

If we made this move, everyone would be up in arms but I think this would turn out differently than previous FA forays..

How about both? Holmes, Hankerson, Moss, Armstrong, Kelly/Paul, Banks/Robinson? I wouldn't hate that.

But if you had to sign only one WR, who would you pick? The idea of signing both to the squad is awesome, however I am not sure if we would have enough money to do that, along with necessities to fill other positions such as tackle (resign Brown), guard and nose-tackle.

Doesn't matter that you're going to have to pay more, in free agency, its all about getting the most aggregate production out of the roster spot. Easiest FA mistake to make that results in deadcap is having the player that you can't find a role for, not having a player who is overpaid.

With that said, I agree with all parties who have suggested that a failed Santonio Holmes signing would be essentially committing the exact same error that made the franchise what it is today once again. They'd be taking a player who, in the last three seasons, has struggled twice with one career year, and a number of late game heroics that profile as garbage time TDs with the Redskins. So that can't be comforting.

But Holmes IS one of the best players on the market and he's not too old to justify his salary, and that goes far for NFL front offices, evaluation mistakes be damned.

If it has to be one of them, give me Holmes. Younger and more productive.

Brown's Nose Tackle Ahtyba Rubin: Possible Trade Target for Redskins? - Hogs Haven (http://www.hogshaven.com/2011/7/22/2288455/browns-nose-tackle-ahtyba-rubin-possible-trade-target-for-redskins)

Saw this wanted to know what you think.

Rubin would be perfect but why would the Browns trade him?
He can easily play 4-3 DT.

I'm one of Tana's biggest fans and I think we should re-sign him.
But, business is business.
I think Holmes is the better player and if we had a choice between Holmes and Tana I would take Holmes.
He's younger and I think he would be more productive then Tana as the focal point of our passing game.

Give me Moss over Holmes.

Holmes is, if I recall correctly, one strike away from a very lengthy suspension.

Plus, the point of drafting guys like Hankerson, Austin, even Kelly is to have those guys emerge as the leading WRs of the future. And that's not even mentioning Armstrong. I'd prefer we invest elsewhere

Not always true. A lot of NT position players couldn't switch to the difference assignments of the 3 or 5 technique in a 4-3 scheme. A NT just eats space and takes on blockers. 4-3 DT would have a lot more responsibilities.

Basically think of Haynesworth. Well, Haynesworth is because he is worthless and lazy, some probably just don't have the skill set for it. If this guy can do shuttle runs without having to stop and take a crap in between, I say trade for the guy sight unseen otherwise...

i dont think the jets are letting holmes go, so i think picking between him or moss is kinda moot, BUT stranger things have happened...
