Plaxico out of jail; on the radar of two teams according to RosenhausGiantone 06-28-2011, 05:01 AM Two words. Amendment. Uno. LOL ...see post #98.lol SBXVII 06-28-2011, 02:55 PM Let's refer to Amendment 1 of the Constitution of the United States of America shall we? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." Saying ignorant and stupid things is also an exercise of that "right". Hence, an exercise of a right does not necessarily result in a beneficial outcome. Not only that, but a person telling someone else to not talk is not legislation per se. What did he say that was ignorant? That he PROBABLY would be the guy you would want to take a risk on? That he PROBABLY would keep his mouth shut and work hard. Longtimefan 07-03-2011, 10:02 PM Will a 34 year old reciever that just got out of jail be able to contribute at all? I dont see a problem having him here for camp to see if he can do anything still, but i dont think there will be camp. I would much rather give a roster spot to one of the many young guys we got or bring back Marko Mitchell. I mean once the season start his career is done right? I dont see him making it with anyone Was just reading an article on Marko Mitchell....the WR with four catches in ten games trying to figure out why he was cut. (http://dcprosportsreport.com/2011/06/08/redskins-plaxico-burress-not-made-for-each-other/) This is what I was alluding to when I said Cooley should keep his comments to himself,he just doesn't know what went on with the other teams so he can't know if he has changed. " Finally, there is the question of Burress’ character. Could he come out of prison a changed man, determined to live a life on the straight and narrow, devoted to football for as long as possible? Sure. But it isn’t likely. The Steelers let Burress go even though he was a valuable receiver because of his terrible work habits and refusal to be a team player. The Giants signed him despite these problems, but Burress missed so many practices and other team functions that the Giants fined him in excess of $100,000 during his time with the team." SBXVII 07-05-2011, 09:32 AM I'm not saying he didn't deserve the fines, but dude.... the Giants HC is a tirant. He fined just about everyone. I think it all depends on how bad a team needs a player at any specific position. As an example, Inwouldn't recommend anyone picking up Haynesworth. Let him rot after getting cut, but the Eagles have a need and are interested so because the Skins hold his rights I'd say let's see what we can get. AH is just as lazy, but that won't stop teams from being interested thinking they can get something out of him that the Skins couldn't. |
