MTK 06-26-2011, 02:44 PM Didn't W say God talked to him? Just saying. 12thMan 06-26-2011, 02:56 PM Yeah, she needs to ratchet down that type of rhetoric if people are to take her seriously. To her credit though, she does sit on the House Intelligence Committee, which will helpful as the campaign season kicks into full gear. A new Iowa poll show her and Romney in a dead heat. Poor Tim Pawlenty can't bust double digits in any national poll. Slingin Sammy 33 06-27-2011, 12:59 PM Yeah, she needs to ratchet down that type of rhetoric if people are to take her seriously. Poor Tim Pawlenty can't bust double digits in any national poll......it is as I have foreseen.....cue menacing Stars Wars music MB tracking to the middle, "The nothing-personal message was a departure from her 2008 comments questioning whether Obama had "anti-American" views. She has said she wishes she framed her criticism differently. In her announcement, Bachmann said the country's problems have been caused by the policies of both parties and made an appeal for unity." She'll have to answer for her record on farm subsidies and earmarks, which is counter to her small government Tea Party message, but any pol worth their salt should be able to spin that. If Rick Perry doesn't jump in, I could really see her and Romney going down to the wire. No one's feeling Tim Pawlenty and Jon Huntsman is Romney-lite. If he jumps in, I'm sure it will come up whether it's true or not. So the Obama campaign just released a statement attacking Michele Bachmann's voting record. Nothing big about that except they didn't do that for either Romney or Pawlenty Slingin Sammy 33 06-27-2011, 02:58 PM Nasty rumors floating around about Rick Perry. Not sure if the Obama strategy is the right thing, better to let the far lefties (or the DNC controlled media MSNBC, CBS, ABC :) J/K) do the hit pieces on Bachmann. Could backfire with independent/moderate women. saden1 06-27-2011, 03:28 PM The gay rumor, or something else? Not sure if the Obama strategy is the right thing, better to let the far lefties (or the DNC controlled media MSNBC, CBS, ABC :) J/K) do the hit pieces on Bachmann. Could backfire with independent/moderate women. It only backfires if it's dirty false information. Bachmann is a treasure trove of nutso nuggets. I know one thing for sure, team Obama is interested in hyping and raising her profile in the hopes of running against her in the general election. If they can't have Palin, Bachmann will do just fine. 12thMan 06-27-2011, 04:08 PM I think they'd much rather have Palin, but yeah Bachmann will do fine. As long as they attack her voting record, which is fair game and above the belt, it's all good. firstdown 06-27-2011, 04:12 PM Bachmann had a few good interviews on Sunday, in that sense that she didn't say anything off the wall or controversial. From what I have read the media is twisting around what I think an earmark is in the first place. She asked for funds from her state for her state. Most earmarks I hear of is someone wanting federal funds to pay for their state pet projects. You don't here people calling them earmarks if someone ask for federal funds to pay for federal projects. |
