This is crazy:
In cases involving removal of children, medical marijuana found in the home would seem to be barely distinguishable from other Schedule I substances -- such as heroin or ecstasy.
"CPS handles (cases) the same way regardless of what the drug ... is," said Michael Weston, deputy director of public affairs and outreach programs at the California Department of Social Services. "Everything is weighed in reference to, 'Is this a danger to the child? Is there a potential harm to the child? Is this showing signs of abuse or neglect?'"

Just more ways that the war on drugs has done more collateral damage in terms of lost lives and families then marijuana use ever has.

Classifying pot along with hardcore drugs like heroin is just insanity. Glad to see the weed movement in full swing, it's about damn time to reverse this BS.

Interesting take, I would support this kind of research. I continue to hear extremely bad things about the VA hospitals and treatment.

I find it interesting that in Alaska, 115K people voted to legalize pot, and 116K voted for a Republican Congressman. Really hoping that the Republican base is moving away from some of the old social conservative ethos.
