ok..let me first of start off by saying..that no matter what..the Skin's need to win out to be 7-9 and still alive for the playoffs. However, they are going to need alot help from other teams. Here is what NEEDS to happen:

NFC East

Eagles (#1 Playoff Spot)

Win conference..duh..that is a no brainer.

NY GiantsNeeds to lose 1 of the next 2 to drop to 10 loses. However, I think the Skins might win the tie breaker according to points and NFC wins if the Giants happen to win out. However, if division wins makes a difference in the tie breaker...the Giants have a better NFC east win loss record...that is if they beat Dallas.

Dallas

Like the Giants..they need to lose 1 of the next 2 to drop to 10 loses. Of course if the Skins win out...the loss is taken care of.

NFC North

Regardless of whether Chicago or Detroit wins out doesn't matter record wise against the Skins since the Skins have beaten both teams this season and will win a tie breaker. And since they play next week it really doesn't matter.

Now Green Bay (#2 Playoff Spot) and Minnesota (#3 Playoff Spot) don't really affect whether the Skins make it or not. One of them is going to Win the division (Most likely Green Bay) and one is going to get a wild card (Minnesota). However, if they play poor and one of them loses out and another team from below wins out...they could lose a tie breaker. Either way it really doesn't matter to the Skins chances of getting in. But that only leaves one wild card. And this is what will need to happen for the Skins to get it:

NFC South

Atlanta (#4 Playoff Spot)

NFC West

Seattle (#5 Playoff Spot) If Seattle wins out and the rest happens below..they win their division.

The story with the 5-9 teams is simple. The Skins win all tie breakers against them if they win out except for Arizona. Arizona must lose to either Seattle or Tampa to drop to 10 in the loss column.

Ok..here is what must happen with the 5-8 teams:

Carolina needs to lose to Tampa and win against New Orleans. This will make them 6-6 in the NFC which will put them behind the Skins 7-5 NFC wins.

New Orleans needs to lose to Atlanta and Carolina giving them 10 loses.

St. Louis needs to lose both their remaining games against Philly and the Jets to hit the 10 loss column.

I think if all that happens..then the Skins will grab the 6th and final spot. It is a lot that needs to happen..but it just might..LOL.

That is basically it in a nutshell. I hope everyone understands and I didn't make a mistake in my computations....if I did..I'm sorry.

If I made any mistakes..please point them out..thanks

They actually just need to lose one game. If they drop to 5-9, we will have a better conference record then they do, giving us the tiebreaker. So Ideally, we would like them to lose this week to Atlanta, so that if we need them to beat Carolina, they can.

If Carolina and New Orleans win this week, were out even if we win.

one note on Car and NO (which is who to comes down to really). If Carolina beats TB and loses to NO and NO loses to Atl the week ebfore then everyone ends up 7-9 and we win the tie breakers.

You know this is what irks me with the NFC so weak this year.....there were several games that we had in our hip pocket, but with stupid mistakes....no time outs left, penalties, bad ref calls etc etc we could've had a better record and been a LOCK for the playoffs....oh what would've could've should've been..........
