Injuriies? We've had a single injury on the side of the ball that's not getting the job done. I can't blame a single problem this year on injuries. Our defense has been devestated but keeps playing strong. Jansen is important, but compared to a lot of teams our offense is about what we should have started with in the begining of the year -1. Many teams would kill for that!

I'm not so sure Daniels is a bust, the 20 plays he's been in for between injuries I thought he played solid. He's a bit too easy to judge just yet, and if I remember correctly his contract isn't that hefty.

Actually we've had more than a single injury on that side of the ball, we just happen to have one that was out for the entire season...oh and he just happens to be our best offensive lineman..yeah no bigger there!

BUT THIS TEAM JUST LACKED CONFIDENCE FOR TOO MUCH OF THE SEASON .THIS TEAM JUST CANT REMEMBER HOW TO WIN. GIBBS WILL LEAD US TO THE PROMISED LAND EVENTUALLY:thumb:

I assume you are refering to the offense and not the defense. i have to disagree if you feel the defense lacked confidence.

What other injury has happened on offense? Coles dislocated finger?

He's our best lineman, but so what? It's 1 injury. That's something a team has to plan around and can NOT be considered the reason for our ineptitude and failures this year. Sorry. Jon Jansen is a great linemen, but he wouldn't have us in the playoff hunt right now.

The Brunell fiasco, and a few back-breaking calls that a team without a QB couldn't recover from.

Things turned in the second half of the Cinncy game, and we all know why.

There is defientely a learning curve effect, but it was SO magnified by the incredibly bad play of Brunell that it's really tough to judge. (We still look weak in the red zone, so its not all Brunell!)

Just because Jansen isn't a QB or WR his loss is discounted by many but he is a key player and best run blocker not to mention team general on the field. One of the big problems is the O line has never clicked and has been shuffled around so much this season so much so there have been no less than 5 different orientations of starters at least.

Could Jansen have made the difference though?... possibly and given the state of the NFC one more win would have put us in strong place for the playoffs but given he was our only major injury problem on the O i think he may have struggled to learn the new system also.

I think the biggest problem this year is the fact we were installing a new system with a coach who was showing some ring rust and might not have quite got how much the changes in the NFL effected his system and doesn't quite have all of his guys in place.

With the announcement that Ramsey will be starting in 05/06 now says alot, it is the first year in recent memory that I can remeber the Redskins knowing who thier signal caller will be in the following year. The next key announcements will be the signing of Pierce and Smoot and there was an article in the WP that Vinny was being approched by college's as program dirrectors. Could it be Vinny is on his way... and Bobby Bethard seemed to be talking up Gibbs in a recent article. I am against getting a GM per say but maybe I could be convinced.

Bedlam: I'm not saying Jansen isn't the cornerstone of that offensive line, but our offense has stayed very healthy compared to a lot of other teams. I don't think we can use offensive injuries as an excuse this year, I'm sorry.

Jansen was a key loss no doubt, but as a whole the offense has struggled so I have a hard time saying it's all due to losing one guy.

I'd say an overlooked injury has been Hall's flirtation with handicapped parking status all year. The games we played with Kimrin were close enough that the very poor kickoffs and missed field goals would have been a difference maker - not just on the scoreboard, but in attitude. I'm glad Hall will have time to get healthy for next year, and maybe Chandler can continue to kick well for us this year and make a race of it in training camp.
