skinsfaninok 05-04-2011, 03:27 PM NFL Star Chris Johnson -- Why Are The Cops Here? | TMZ.com (http://www.tmz.com/2011/05/04/nfl-running-back-tennesee-titans-chris-johnson-police-cops-orlando-police-department-florida-drugs-mtv/)
I think Chris was right about the "suspicion" of drugs being moved in and out of his condo, but sometimes athletes really need to stop this "their out to get me crap"
Johnson also tweeted "I should have gave them some doughnuts"
mlmpetert 05-04-2011, 03:36 PM I would be pissed too. People (likely black males) cant come and go from your house without the neighbors and the police thinking something illegal is going down?

I agree with that which is a joke, again it's 2011.
Schneed10 05-04-2011, 03:48 PM If I'm speaking honestly, it depends on the neighborhood. I think it has nothing to do with race.
If I'm in a neighborhood with decent household income and I see dudes coming and going from a house all the time, I'm likely to think it's a guy and his buddies who love to play poker. White, black, or whatever.
But if I'm in a neighborhood whose median household income is $20K - 30K, and there are lots of men coming and going from the house all the time, yes I am likely to be suspicious (and guess what, I'm likely to be right).
Schneed10 05-04-2011, 03:51 PM That said, Johnson lives in a nice area. So in this case he's right, this seems like profiling.
The question is, were people profiling him because he's black, or because they know he plays in the NFL?

really? so if some one moved down the street from you and you didn't know who they were but you saw a lot of people coming and going very frequently it wouldn't arrise any suspision in you?
it's not like the cops harrased him, they were just following a tip from what it sounds like, all they were doing is their job, investigating suspicious activity. when cops go out of their way to harass people it's one thing, but when something fishy is going on is it that bad of a thing they show up? there was nothing illegal going on so they left, i see no problem.
Dirtbag59 05-04-2011, 04:02 PM I obviously don't know Chris personally. However from what I've seen of him he's probably one of the nicer guys in the league right now. Maybe it's unfair to judge him by his look but it does put him at risk for getting noticed in the wrong way. It's not black people, society in general just prefer for others to be clean cut and well dressed so when you go out with dreads, gold teeth, baggy clothes and people know little if anything about you, then you're going to get the wrong kind of attention.
I mean compare him to other black athletes like Jordan, Bo Jackson, Dwight Howard, and Tiger Woods to name a few who at the very least maintain a sort of GQ image.
Trust me if a white guy dressed like CJ28 he would be turning heads as well. Still I really do believe that Johnson is one of the better guys in the league that gives a couple of people the wrong idea based on how he presents himself.

so if it's a nice neighborhood everybody is just having tea and crumpets but if it's the ghetto they are all smoking crack? get real
Chico23231 05-04-2011, 04:03 PM complete typical racist tip by some scared rich white people. eff police and there bullsh*t.

Okay ill say that the neighbors have a right to think or feel however they want, and if all they told the cops as the TMZ artical indicates is that a bunch high end cars were enter and leavig CJ's property the cops should have said so what. How should that be worthy of being suspicous to the police station?
The best thing my dad ever tought me: If police come to your door and you didnt call them dont answear. CJ should have done the same that day.
