^ sorry again didn't mean to derail the thread but all I keep hearing is "I hope the 8th Circuit lifts the lockout." which essentially means the owners are going to have to give the players what they want.
Let's stay on topic we've got numerous threads covering the lockout.

Yes sorry again. I was in the moment reading what other had said and after I entered the statement I realized I screwed up.
Back on track....
Did anyone see the NFL Network interview on the LB who was not drafted... I think it was Mark Herzlich - MLB- Boston College? It was a nice interview about him having a great season, then he finds out he has cancer, one of his friends/teamates usually leaves town every year and when he called he informed him that he would be staying at the school and going through chemo. His friend said he'd stay with him and make sure he drove him to every chemo meeting. The kid does seem kinda like a nice level headed kid. I'd have to imaging he lost some size due to the chemo but if he could bulk a little bit more up he might be a steal.

He got drafted by some ufl team.... shame (per shefty)
But.... can't the players if offered a job by the NFL leave for the NFL or do they have to wait till their season is over with the UFL? and on that note aren't the two seasons at different times?

Once they sign a contract with the UFL, they are comitted for the season (which ends in late November). So you'll probably see guys like Herzlich wait until the last possible minute to decide whether to sign with the UFL team that drafted them
SS, do you know what is holding teams back on this guy, Herzlich? Still having treatments? Not all the way back? He was a bad man before all this happened. I would love to bring him in if there is...any chance of return to former...form

Maybe thats what happened. I remember something from last year players who were mentioned to be playing for a UFL team all of a sudden were not and were assigned to an NFL team.
The CFL is different though right. Players can leave at any time?

I know no more than anyone else here. I guess teams are nervous about the cancer

Players under a CFL contract have a 6 week window (first 6 weeks of the calendar year usually) to sign with an NFL team. After that, they can't until the following year.
That's why you see such a run on CFL players signed around late January/early February

Nope. A contract is a contract. You sign a contract, you play for that team, unless that team deigns to set you free.
