Is Alexander going to play DE? Kerrigan is going to do wonders for our DBs.

They might keep Lo as a reserve OLB. Lo was alright last year, but he isn't blessed with the athleticism Kerrigan has. But still, he didn't look lost at all.

Ryan Kerrigan is the anti-Albert Haynesworth - - and that is a GOOD thing.

Haynesworth has a ton of talent and zero work ethic/hustle/leave it all on the field.

Kerrigan has some talent but hardly what the elite players at his position have but he will bring all of it to bear on every play.

Ryan Kerrigan will be just fine...

Former coach: Skins' top pick Kerrigan never stops impressing | John Keim | NFL | Washington Examiner (http://washingtonexaminer.com/sports/teams/redskins/2011/05/former-coach-kerrigan-never-stops-impressing)

"The one thing that separates him from the other guys who have come through here is that he has a tremendous, relentless motor, a nonstop motor, and that's the one thing that pushed him over the edge," Emanuel said.

"He had a thirst for knowledge," Emanuel said. "And most defensive linemen at the college level could only tell you about their position. He could put the whole defense up and draw up the linebackers and the secondary."

Emanuel raved about Kerrigan's hands and his ability to stay low when rushing. But the question is can Kerrigan adjust to playing a 3-4 outside linebacker after playing a 4-3 end at Purdue? Emanuel said they often had Kerrigan work on dropping into coverage in practice. Rarely did that happen in games -- with good reason.

"The biggest reason we didn't drop him is because he was so good rushing the passer," Emanuel said. "But he could do it easily because he's a smart player. He's a complete player."

One scout agreed with Emanuel.

"It's very, very overrated and overblown of 3-4 outside linebackers having to drop and cover," the scout said. "Ninety percent of the time they're rushing the quarterback, and that's something this guy can do. He's not a one-trick pony."

We clearly made the wrong selection...
Taken from Walter Football:
Washington failed to draft a quarterback on Thursday and Friday, prompting Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen to report that the team plans on going with John Beck in 2011. Translation: The Redskins will have the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

The Redskins had some really good picks. They also had some really questionable selections. As far as the pure prospects are concerned, the draft was pretty average. Having said that, I'm really befuddled by Bruce Allen's decision not to acquire a quarterback or much offensive line help. Beck doesn't stand a chance behind Washington's pathetic front.

What saves Washington from an abysmal grade is its plethora of trade downs. I loved that. That said, Allen and Mike Shanahan may have just locked up Andrew Luck. Maybe that's their plan.

Overall 2011 NFL Draft Grade given on 5/1/11: C

Haha, Walter can go suck it. High round QBs are LONG-TERM investments. You're stuck with whomever you selected for about 3 or more years. If he stinks it up, you ain't picking another one high in the draft for about 3 or more years. Quite frankly, out of the very short excerpts I watch about Gabbert and Locker, both were INADEQUATE, imo.

It still amazes me how some football analysts can blindly say that a team, who has a bunch of needs that affect QB such as running back, receivers and o-line, should reach for a QB just to take a QB.

Walter Football is extremely unreliable in terms of analyses of drafts, mock drafts, and player ratings. The only reason I ever go there is to find objective data like 40 times.
