From the village idiot himself.

Guess Bud Adams didn't get that memo.

I would recommend following Schefter and Rich Campbell.

Rich Campbell
NFL will distribute to clubs, likely tomorrow, a "comprehensive set of procedures" governing transactions such as signings & trades.

Hopefully 2nd round picks and later picks may be able to be traded. If this is the case, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see Kolb, Orton, and McNabb traded by tomorrow morning.

Schefters newest tweet:

"Memo to NFL clubs going out now on how to operate"

I should be studying for finals, instead I'm studying Tweets and mock drafts... I guess it's still studying though!

From Vonnie Holliday:

"Vonnie Holliday
Redskin Park will be open tomorrow for players. Workouts will begin with strength staff tomorrow morning after a meeting with management!"

This should've happened on Tuesday, but good to see it happening at all.

NFL teams plan to open facilities Friday morning | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/28/nfl-teams-plan-to-open-facilities-friday-morning/)

“Judge Nelson said it was up to us to determine how to proceed, and we think in light of the fact that the first round of the draft is tonight, clubs are fully focused on that,” Aiello said. “The best way to proceed is for the veterans to start working out at facilities tomorrow, and then we’ll set up the process of starting the league year, which would include player trades and player signings. . . . No player transactions until we start the league year.”

I don't recall Judge Nelson telling them they can start the new year whenever they get around to it. I think I read where she says the new league year starts now, and this was yesterday.

From what I remember reading is that she said the NFL will have to deal with any consequences on how they proceed from this point. Maybe that's what he's referring to? If it is, the owners might be in some trouble because that's not even close to the same thing.

Great find, I found this interesting:

"Mandatory and voluntary mini-camps may begin subject to the rules in Article XXXVI of the 2006 CBA."

I wonder if they'd have modified 2006 CBA Rules? Although I think it would make more sense to do 2010 as much as they suck. If they go to 2006 rules, then players like Sidney Rice would be free for the taking. At the least I hope they can open up player trades so we can unload McNabb and (hopefully) Haynesworth (sh*t, I'll take a seventh rounder at this point).

Yeah I don't think the teams have to wait because she did say "immediately" however I think the owners want to take their complaint to the Eigth Circuit Court which I think the owners believe won't get settled by tonight. I also think the owners are in agreement not to make any free agency moves until after the Eigth Circuit decides, but officially teams can make moves and their hoping that no owner goes rogue and starts signing FA's.

Agree, I dont get the leagues last piece of that statement that says we getting something to together so we can agree with the league year starts...hasnt that been stated by the judge and the decision? From a legal standpoint, isnt free agency open and all facilities open? Why is this start date different from when players can go workout from when they become free agents if we past both those periods anyway?

How effing incompetent is the league and Goodell...how come he and the league wasnt ready for this ruling and had something prepared to go out immediately? Sloppy if you ask me
