Agent: Mallett “really sick,” in bed by 10 before canceled Panthers visit | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/20/agent-mallett-really-sick-in-bed-by-10-before-canceled-panthers-visit/)
Also Mallett did in fact talk to a Panthers coach on the 9th..
His agent is about as credible as his mother. Actually probably less credible. A mother would be more likely to turn her kid in.

Agree but there is always 2 sides to a story

Who knows what to believe these days. Talked to one of the guys who worked on Gruden Camp about Mallett. Said he was pretty chill off camera, but you could see a total change in his demeanor when Gruden would ask him to break down plays. He would get totally focused

He's probably a kid that's going to need a good kick in the pants now and then. Would probably help if he has a veteran to mentor him too.

It seems that story posted earlier was a bunch of bullshit.
Agents, Panthers respond to Mallett report | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/20/agents-panthers-respond-to-mallett-report/)
The Panthers have corroborated that version of the events, in an e-mail to PFT: “Ryan Mallett came for a visit to Charlotte two weeks ago. He had dinner with our coaches the evening he arrived and came down from his hotel room for a scheduled breakfast meeting the following morning upon which time he informed a staff member that he had been sick all night with nausea. We told Ryan that if he was ill to remain in his room as long as the nausea existed. We took him to the airport later that afternoon for his scheduled flight.”
SO why in the **** did they post the first bogus rumor before doing their research?? God damn I hate the media.

Well it's not entirely impossible that he went out after dinner, got hammered, got up the next morning, was able to go down to breakfast and tell the Panthers he wasn't up to meeting with them.
But again, who knows really what went down. These next few days are going to be crazy with rumors

Very true. I'll take back what I said then because it's very possible it's 100% true.
Much different when you hear it from the reporter himself.

An inaccurate, immobile QB with re-enforced character issues. I'm not sure why he's even mentioned by anyone as 1st round talent. To have released UDFA Chase Daniels, to even consider drafting Mallett 2 years later is asinine.
Are you serious? You obviously don't watch college football if you believe that Mallett isn't a first round talent. He has one of the best arms I have every seen. He's extremely accurate with the football and moves very well in the pocket. He has put huge up numbers against top quality opponents. Anyone who says that this guy is not a 1st talent haven't really seen many of his games.

I won't deny that he has put together some nice plays, but it is widely accepted that he doesn't move well. Couple that a career completion percentage of 54.6%, apparently he's not incredibly accurate either. Of the top QB prospects only Locker's completion percentage is lower.
