So which is better?
a) sign Vince Young off of the street without losing players or picks
or
b) trade Haynesworth for Orton

Well I think VY is better than Orton now and the upside is greater as well, so I'll say Young

VY definitely, although I would still want Haynesworth gone.

Another view on VY-to-Redskins talk

Earlier this afternoon, MDS pointed out an item from Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel regarding talk that Titans quarterback Vince Young could be destined for D.C.
Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com pointed out in an e-mail to PFT that Redskins coach Mike Shanahan counts former Titans coach Jeff Fisher and former Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger among his closest friends. Neither Fisher nor Heimerdinger would be expected to endorse Young to Shanahan.
That said, the biggest question for Shanahan is whether he has any better options. Between Young, John Beck, and Rex Grossman, we’d take Vince Young every time.

I'd take the flyer on Young. Either he responds really well to K. Shanahan or he doesn't.

OMG. I read this and article and thought NO EFFING WAY!
I'll take Beck or Grossman any day of the week over Young. No matter how the Skins season ends up. If we have to pick up a third QB I'd prefer Chase Daniels who is not available so Smith or Bulger would get my vote.

Maybe the blogger should have posed the article more in the form of a question.
Report: Washington Redskins 'front runner' for Vince Young | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins (http://realredskins.com/2011/05/report-redskins-front-runner-for-vince-young/)
What would be the attraction for bringing in VY? Does not Head Case trump better athletic skills?
I personally cannot think of any QB's that are head problems that have had any success. Michael Vick would be the closest and if you can believe the MV corner reporting......he is on the mend....but that is another matter.
Build the line, give them some goto weapons, go with Beck or Rexy unless another....."realistic" improvement can be found.
Draft the future next year..........
