Shawne Merriman To WWE?, Booker T's Promotion, Lita Update - WrestlingInc.com (http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2011/0317/537523/lita/)

Apparently this is no joke, people who know Merriman says that he has been wanting to join pro wrestling since 2010.

I have been a fan of pro wrestling for most of my entire life. I had a brief stint around 2002 where i attempted to train as a pro wrestler, and I wrestled for a local school in Shawesville, Virginia (Boogie's Wrestling Camp). I can tell you that the training is unlike anything else you will ever do as far as physically demanding, and this is coming straight from the heart, i have also trained in boxing and MMA for the past 3 years.

That being said, Shawne Merriman will not make it in the WWE. I have respect for the NFL athlete, but playing 16 games is not the same as wrestling nightly 300 days a year, often wrestling with injuries, illness, or other infirmities. this is what is expected of the WWE athlete.

He's good at choking bitches, so it seems like a natural fit.

I'm a huge fan myself. Id be able to run many spots in the ring with ya solid.

This should be interesting if he shows up.

i think most of this has to do with him having real-life beef with a wrestler named CM PUNK, over the fact that Merriman was trying to creepily pick up on the WWE Divas when they were at a hotel that Merriman also was staying at.

WWE's CM Punk explains Twitter feud with Buffalo Bills' Shawne Merriman - About Last Night (http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/about-last-night/2011/02/wwes-cm-punk-buffalo-bills-shawne-merriman-feud-on-twitter.html)

Im no wrestling fanboy by any means, but If Merriman is looking for someone he can beat up, stay away from Punk. Prior to pro wrestling, Phillip Brooks was an accomplished Mui Thai fighter, and also a champion kick boxer. Punk would whoop him 10 times over. I love how these NFL guys think they can beat up anybody just because they are in the NFL...

Seems like a good fit. Juice head - check. Overrated - check. More shtick than substance - check.

One time last year, my brother surprised me and came by the gym. He loves wrestling as well, so people looked at us like we were crazy when he threw me into the ropes and i did a sunset flip. We mess around like that sometimes when it isnt real busy.

Half the folks couldnt believe what they were seeing, and the other half thought it was hilarious.....
