I will take age any day especially when Pierce has come out of nowhere this year. I actually would not mind in cutting Hall either. Then maybe we could draft Mike Nugent out of The Ohio State. He is an awesome kicker with a great leg and very accurate throughout college. gibbsisgod 12-16-2004, 08:57 PM NUGENT IS THE NEXT MATT STOVER. AND PIERCE COULD BE AN ALLPRO EVERY YEAR:httr: illdefined 12-16-2004, 09:09 PM Barrow will be 35 next year. if we can save money by cutting him, we should. if Hall can heal and be like new, we should keep him. he's the best kicker we've had in years. aehs77 12-16-2004, 11:33 PM i think barrow is gone add him to the list of expensive lapses in judgement. Winskins 12-17-2004, 01:26 AM We'd take a decent cap hit if we released him. I would either say trade him, or (and I prefer this) keep him as a backup in case someone gets hurt. Barrow is the same kind of player Pierce is, he's got a lot of smarts and he knows how to read offenses. bedlamVR 12-17-2004, 03:02 AM Cut Hall? Any particular reason perhaps because he is injured? Like has been said he is the best kicker we have had in years and never underestimate the importance of a reliable kicker. Bring in competition in the offseason sure but he is not a sure fire cut neither is Barrow. Sure he was a bust this year but injuries happen he was Mr Iron man in NY and if he decides not to retire (and negociate an injury settlement) he would be a worth while backup at least. offiss 12-17-2004, 03:13 AM Barrow is a very good MLB if he could be out there he would injuries are a part of the NFL, he would make a very good backup at LB next year, as for Hall unless there's someone better why get rid of him plenty of great player's have missed time due to injuries and come back to their old form. saden1 12-17-2004, 04:31 AM I would put my money on Pierce. Call me old fashion but I like blue collar workers. He has stuck around the league and now it is his time to shine. So far his star is shinning brighter than anyone had expected. Give him the money and release Barrow if he won't accept a pay cut and take a backup role. Luxorreb 12-17-2004, 06:23 AM I have a feeling we'll have Arrington, Pierce, Washington, Barrows and Marshall all on the roster next season. Hall is injured, he's a solid kicker and we also probably have alot of money tied up in him. News that Jansen is healthy and could play if not on IR is GREAT NEWS to all Skins fans. |
