Riggo was definitely a freak. A rare combo of size, speed, and guts.

He'll be careful not to let that fire spread to his bank account. It's illegal you know!

By the way, did anyone hear Shefter's comment about Riggins this morning on Mike & Mike? He was talking about Barber's possible return, and he mentioned that Marcus Allen and John Riggins, respectively, gained the most yards in a season at 36+. He was making the point that the two of them were very unique, and with regard to Riggins, he said that Riggo "was a physical freak of nature." I liked that.

Yeah, the league was a lot different back then. And Riggo was running behind two, three, Hall of Famers. And they didn't take time off and come back at age 36, they were already in football shape. Big difference.

Ronde IS still playing very well. Granted, he's not a RB but who knows...Tiki did subtract 5 years of wear and tear, so maybe he could still play once he shakes off the rust.

Riggins and Allen are two totally different backs compared to Tikki. Should not even be mentioned in the same breath.

Like comparing Apples to Oranges. Who's gonna compare Hall-of-Famers to Tikki Barber who could not hold a job OUTSIDE of football and could not a BALL INSIDE football?
