There are so many holes in the dyke. This just fills one. Good signing. Wish we had more draft picks.

Poll results -
Like the signing = 93
Don't like = Kareem Moore and Reed Doughty

I think it's Kareem Moore and NFC East QB's combined in a single collective account.

Is Atogwe's age an issue? (http://www.csnwashington.com/03/08/11/Is-Atogwes-age-an-issue/landing.html?blockID=435511&feedID=6458)

He's 29...will be 34 when his contract expires. KOW the guy has been remarkably durable, barring injury he should be able to play at a reasonably high level through the life of his contract.

So he's not a long term player, big deal. He makes us a better D right now and fills a need.

When we signed Fletcher he was already 31, does anyone regret making that move now??

I know that signing a older player while we are not in contention take the spot away from a younger player that could be valuable a few years down the road when hopefully we are in contention, but I think you have to stay relevant while rebuilding youre team otherwise good players wont want to come here, and if they do it will be solely for the money.

We didn’t give up any draft picks, we didn’t over pay, this is a great signing. It probably spells farewell to Macho Harris, but we were probably likely to bring in a lower quality vet anyways.

I agree...if Atogwe can give us a few good years now, he'll make our current defense better, and we'll have more than ample time to obtain and groom his eventual replacement.
