I think Portis eventually ends up in New England as their nominal no. 1 back. But he'll be spitting with Green-Ellis, Woodhead, and Morris, so he'll be starting in name only.
I mentioned this a while back. But not sure now with the emergence of Green Ellis. Plus with the way CP likes to shoot off at the mouth sometimes, I don't think Hoody is a CP type of guy.

Portis shuts up if the fear of punishment for his blabber is large, like with Shanahan.

Everything must come to an end. Wish Clinton had been better able to handle his critics, they always seemed to be a distraction for him. I wish him well in whatever he decides to do.

Davis had more in the tank when he left than CP does.
Thats a safe assumption Davis was let go too early for us. CP I hope he does have something left in the tank - but if he goes to some other team to me his legacy here gets tossed in the fire. We paid him a lot and put up with more than what he gave back. I still think he should finish with us before he sells his house and signs with another team till he gets cut after he breaks in half.

I'm not sure he ever truly got the respect he deserved both on and off the field. In my mind, he goes down as one of the greatest players to ever wear a Redskins uniform.
That said though, it was time for him to go. His star was fading and when you're in the position we are you have to make difficult decisions. I've been a Torain fan since before we brought him in, but I don't believe he can carry the load and he's not as explosive as you'd like to see. My guess is they (if free agency allows them to) bring in a veteran back with some explosiveness to him and he and ATV share the workload with KW emerging as the #3 back.
I don't think Davis or the other guy (Brown?) have much of a shot here

CP was a great Skin and carried us to the playoffs twice when we needed to win out to lock up a wild card spot....with marginal QB play and no help from the passing game. He did everything Gibbs asked of him and at 205 lbs when he got here took the punishment of a 230lbs back. He attacked the blitz with ferocity and was our sole offensive weapon for several years (except for Santana). I loved Portis in the B&G and hope he lands on a contender.

Smoot; you mentioned several weeks ago that the Skins were high on a undisclosed veteran RB. Is there any new info on that?

"In Washington, it's nothing left me to prove, It's not about the money for me at this stage in my career. It's about winning. I hope to help a team win rings, and that's what I'm looking forward to. Going in onto someone else's team and not having to be worried about Portis, Portis, Portis, and just to be able to contribute in any way I can, that will be a wonderful thing." - CP

He definitely has a better shot of getting to the Big Game sooner with the Patriots than with us.
