They gave up like 24 ppg my bad I thought you were talking about GB skinsfaninok 02-22-2011, 08:17 PM my bad I thought you were talking about GB LOL its all good, come on Matty I'm not that crazy. skinster 02-23-2011, 11:14 AM I agree that the Packers/Panthers are best worst. About the comment about Ayers being the best front 7 player for Denver, I'd say that's without question Elvis Dumervil, he just missed last season with that torn pec muscle. I know I was talking about last year. I was trying to emphasize the horrible lack of depth on this team. Even with dumervil, they only have 3 young players on that roster that have a shadows chance of starting 3 years down the road. Dumervil, ayers, and (sort of young) williams. I really do not buy into ayers being an impact player, I do not think that williams will be that effective in 3 years, and I just can't take dumervil seriously as anything other than a pass-rush situation player. I'm not writing any of these guys off, I just think that when a team only has three guys that have potential to start 3 years in the future, they better be very good core players. I just don't see the present guys on the roster carrying the team in the future. Young talent is most needed on this defense more than any other. MTK 02-23-2011, 11:17 AM LOL its all good, come on Matty I'm not that crazy. It's hard to keep track sometimes lol skinster 02-23-2011, 11:18 AM Maybe they had too much confetti in their eyes from winning the SUPER BOWL! Yeah, they suck. On to the OP, sadly you are right, we are bereft of young talented players on the offensive side of the ball. If Torrian could make it thru 16 games I would say he's serviceable to good and I'm willing to go with Armstrong as a good 'young' (although he's like 28) player, we are hurting badly on that side of the ball. I agree with you, but the purpose of this post is to predict what the future will be like. Torrain might be serviceable and young, but I just have zero faith that he will remain that way in the future. Armstrong seems to be serviceable also, but I don't see him as anything but a down field threat. I don't see his speed staying with him in the future. Are you trying to point out that Shannys old team obviously has a lack of young talent and that this could mean you think we have a HC who doesnt build young, talented teams? I'm not even 100% sure I would disagree with that, I'm just looking for some clarification if possible. skinster 02-23-2011, 01:11 PM Are you trying to point out that Shannys old team obviously has a lack of young talent and that this could mean you think we have a HC who doesnt build young, talented teams? It wasn't my original intention, but coincidentally I think Shanny is terrible with personnel (good coach, but s*** with personnel). My original intention of this thread is simply to discuss the future of the NFL, who will be able to play at a high level for years to come. This draft/offseason (if there is a real F/A signing period) could tell us alot about how the team will be constructed under Shanny. If he goes for youth over names I will dance a little jig! And thanks for the clarification, I wasnt trying to be a D-bag or anything just trying to understand |
