Thanks for the link. Apparently it's something that hasn't been used very much in the recent past due to having a salary cap. I suppose we'll see it used more often in the future, but I'm sure the players don't care much for it.
Yeah thats another thing the players can gripe about lol

These are all pretty meaningless now without free agency and a new CBA. I'm sure that a provision of the new agreement (whenever it happens) will be that all existing tags will be voided but most of those players will be 're-tagged' with whatever the new tags and terms are.

Do we even have anyone who is worth considering using a franchise or transition tag on?

Damn I was really hoping Rice could be a Skin same for Woodley.
Well transition tags don't require compensation, so technically we could get him.

Carlos is worth a consideration. I wouldnt at this point, would like a long term deal with him. Lotta teams are putting them on cause of the uncertainty of a lack of a CBA. Once that is done, the tag will be removed and long term contracts will be signed with some of these guys.

Logan Mankins got the franchise tag by the Patriots (10 million I believe)
David Harris expected to be tagged by the Jets
Woodley by the Steelers (unfortunately)
I think Greenway will possibly get tagged by the Vikings, while Rice gets a transition tag
I'm actually happy about these. I am hoping for a quiet year of free agency. It may be quiet simply due to lack of CBA, but even if a deal was magically agreed upon months in advance of the season, I still want just a few under the radar signings. All of these guys are obviously big names.
I wonder what Allen is thinking, what strategy he's taking, and what he's telling the danny.

If we can keep him another year at a reasonable price, go for it. Better than paying him what he THINKS he's worth.

I would have liked Rice
