Unless with the new CBA all of this goes away.

Unless with the new CBA all of this goes away.

I am imagining that the whole reason these teams were fast and furious with the franchise tags was because there is an assumption on the owners part that a new CBA will have some provision protecting clubs that used tags or RF Tenders. Even if they were to go away, some sort of right of first refusal for this year would be in place (again, I imagine)

Actually yeah - low profile, high potential. You want underappreciated and underrated players in free agency. To me, that means that the perception of the player is lower than what his talent level and/or potential is.

And of course I want talented players, just not the ones that you have to overpay for. High-profile = overpaid

Well you obviously don't want to do what we did in 2000 but there would be no problem adding some high profile if he fit a need well. We'll really need good talent evaluation to find this crop of diamonds in the rough that you describe; hopefully can.

Thats a semi-old rumor, however I would give up our first pick for him right now.
If by pick you mean interception I'm on board.
