Those 400 got a great deal though and got to walk on field after the game which never happens

I'm not sure that'd be enough for me

But hey, at least Jerruh got to parade the Lombardi Trophy up to the podium in the hands of Roger Staubach. Couldn't resist that I guess.

For most fans, watching a SB live never happens.

Stepping on the field AFTER missing the game isn't much of a prize to them.

@mortreport: NFL on SB 400: 1 free ticket (transferable) plus $2,400 for next yr or 1 ticket, plus air and hotel to any future SB.

The future SB option is non-transferable.

That seems like the best thing the NFL could do. I know it doesn't make up for missing, but if I was going to a Skins SB I would want the opportunity to choose the next Skins SB even if I had to wait a little bit :(

But if you are a fan of GB or Pitt, you did not come to watch just any Super Bowl, whether your entry was free or not. You came to watch THAT Super Bowl.

Imagine the excitement of a 8-year-old Packers fan who is thrilled to see his team play in the Super Bowl. Than, at the last minute, you find out that you aren't really gonna see the game. Do you want to be that kid? Do you want to be the dad who has to break the news to that kid?

A free ticket to see, say, Chicago play New England play in next year's game is not going to cut it as a make-up in this situation.

I agree to the extent that nothing will make up for losing that moment. But I think the NFL is getting as close as they can to making it right, by their latest offering of airfare, hotel, and a ticket to any SB of your choosing, OR next year's +$2400.

But of course there has been a lawsuit filed, so each of those 400 probably just won the NFL lottery and will be given emotional damages in the amount of 1 cajillion dollars each because
a) they can't make up the priceless moment lost
and
b) it's the NFL (billionaires fighting millionaires) vs the little guy.
