Totally disagree. It was his first year starting and look how good he was. He gets a full off season ( if there is one) of camps and so forth, to work on his game. I'd expect him to get better. He can be as good as he wants, if he keeps his nose clean.I think he really showed some bad habits at the end of the season, once the cumulative effect of pressure and QB hits started to wear on him. Vick is comfortably better than Kolb at the current moment, but they lost to a bad Vikings team and they lost, in part, because of dreadful offense -- at the QB position. They win that game and the next one...and we're probably talking about an all-Pennsylvania SB with the Eagles owning that first round bye and such.

I don't think the Eagles expect Vick to save them from all their other team flaws, only to be the best quarterback he can be. I think the vertical passing is always going to be there and that Vick fits this offense much better than he ever fit the Atlanta offense, but I also don't think Vick is capable of playing 16-18 games or holding a starting job for 18 games in 2012. I think he just has too many bad habits for NFC DCs to prey on.

I think there is a reverse side to that coin though. For 3 years no defense in the NFL had to face a player like Vick (Young wasn't/isnt as talented as Vick is) but won't teams eventually start to "figure out" or remember how to defend him more efficiently again? Looking at his stats from the beginning to the end of the year (excluding the game against us of course) there was a drop off in performance, not a huge one but certainly a noticeable drop off.

You are leaving out a very important part of the equation. In Atlanta Vick was a run first guy. He locked onto one receiver and if it wasn't there or wasn't an easy throw he would pull it down and use his legs to improvise. In Philly, he has shown that he can be a dual threat, running when he needs to, but also using the pocket a lot more, moving up and making throws. Even with good accuracy. That is apart of his game he did not have in Atlanta. Big difference. IMO he is going to be harder to defend against now more than he ever was in Atlanta.

Vick is still a run first guy but he hides it better now than in the past. Vick is a nice regular season QB but when the playoff come around and the defenses tighten up Vick shows that he cant get it done.

The Eagles will regret keeping Vick over Kolb. Vick will never take them beyond where they went this year. IMO, they should have tried to move Vick as his stock will never be higher than it is now,

I think they're in a position where they almost have to keep Vick, even if the end of the year didn't go so well. But, I agree w/you that they will regret letting Kolb walk, it that's what happens. Who will backup Vick?

The iggles are always financially savvy & frugal, but w/Vick as your starter you are really going to need a good backup. I say that for 2 reasons; he gets hurt every year & is likely to get seriously hurt enough to miss sevral weeks, or he will fumble/throw picks when a good defense has his number. I could see him getting benched in favor of Kolb next year regardless of injury. If I were A. Reid I would want Kolb on the sideline. I know Kolb wants to start & I guess they're pre-empting a qb controversy by looking to trade him. Or maybe they're setting the price way high so that no one bites, yet they can tell him they tried.

How can Vick not get it done in the playoffs? You all said he was a worse QB in Atlanta but he took them to the NFC title game. He beat Brett Farve at Green Bay. I do believe Vick can get it done in the playoffs.

I would agree that he is less of a run first QB now, but I still don't think he will ever be a QB who can sit back there and win alot of games from the pocket. I will say that he clearly has improved his accuracy and touch but if (and thats a sizeable if) you can contain him in the pocket than he doesnt scare me much more than any NFL QB.

Champ Bailey back in DC anybody? New regiem maybe posible... I think he'll be cheaper than Namdi and would complement the core group if we can't resign Carlos.

Not that I would do it, but I trust Kolb will be pretty good. This is not news, but Andy Reid has a pretty good eye for talent and most importantly how to use that talent. They got rid of DM b/c they thought Kolb was better than him. It just so happened that MV got on the field and they couldn't take him out.

I think Kolb will be very good on the right team. On our team the OL would get him killed.

Granted he is not the Champ of 2002, but the 2011 Champ would still be an improvement to our secondary if no more than just as nickel or as a rotational depth player. He has more of an incentive to come here than anywhere else I would think since he used to play here. If it doesn't cost a lot I like the idea.

Hopefully Champ can have a career track similar to Charles Woodson. I know he is a big fan of Bob Slowick, maybe that will play in as a factor to his return. Not to mention Vinny is gone. I know he had some personal issues in DC but maybe he has matured since then.

I'd also like to see us make a run at Vincent Jackson
