Why would the Patriots have put Brady back in when they just won 11 games with Matt Cassel?
Because they won more with Brady.
I'm not trying to trash Palmer but he just hasn't been that good. He'll be a good fit for some team, I just don't think it's us. I'd seriously rather ride it on Grossman or McNabb unless we can get Palmer as a free agent. Palmer is one of my fave QBs from the past decade but I think that the ship has sailed on us going after guys like this.

Too bad our illustrious coach didn't realize this last offseason.

Agreed, no sense in getting Palmer. If we wanted an old washed up QB who was pretty good a couple of years ago -- we could stick with McNabb.
FOR FREE!!!!

Well maybe it'll cost a lot of capital but in terms of spending current draft picks keeping McNabb would be FREE!

Why would the Colts trade Peyton Manning and a first round pick to the Pats for Tom Brady and a fourth rounder?
Because it would be the right thing to do.
What's the question again?

Why, that would be giving up a beast for an overrated QB!! You wouldn't be getting a fair trade on that(AH for Palmer). Guy has been surrounded by talent his entire career and rarely has done anything in term of winning titles, division or otherwise.
Haynesworth is being traded one way or another, we'll be lucky to get a thirs round pick for him. We aren't keeping McNabb, and there is a good chance we draft a qb in the first round. I'll take palmer over grossman, and gives us a decent option for at least one season. Plus he is respectable and can teach a rookie qb how to act in the nfl, i.e. not become the next VY.

What a horrible analogy.

There's no way I'd give a pick for this guy.
If he got let go I'd bring him in to challenge Grossman while we groom our new QB.

Palmer is washed up. He will not resurrect his career here. We need to ride on with Grossman while the QB of the future is developed. We cant keep going after all these washed up QBs and hope to get 1 good year out of them....

Just for giggles, here are the QBs who have won the Heisman Trophy in the last 50 years.
Sam Bradford
Tim Tebow
Troy Smith
Matt Leinart
Jason White
Carson Palmer
Eric Crouch
Chris Weinke
Danny Wuerfel
Charlie Ward
Gino Toretta
Ty Detmer
AndreWare
Vinny Testeverde
Doug Flutie
Pat Sullivan
Jim Plunkett
Gary Beban - - drafted by the Redskins by the way
Steve Spurrier
John Huarte
Roger Staubach
Terry Baker
The jury is still out on Bradford, Tebow, Troy Smith, Leinart and Palmer. Of the retired ones, only Plunkett and Staubach amounted to much in the NFL.
Touting a QB as anything close to a "sure thing" for the pros based on his winning the Heisman Trophy is not supported by data.
Flutie was a winner when he started in Buffalo. Also, Charlie Ward started for years on pretty good Knicks teams! :)

Lol I hope nobody thinks he'll come to the Redskins. You don't trade for McNabb and Palmer in two consecutive years... It's just not how you run a franchise.
Blaine Gabbert>>>Carson Palmer
Donovan McNabb>>Carson Palmer
Rex Grossman=Carson Palmer
Yes I just said that.
