If he's not bluffing then he should retire. No one who loves the game would retire at such a young age with so much left to prove. If he could honestly walk away now then he no longer loves the game and that's not a guy you want to trade for and hand the keys to.
Jordan did. Ricky Williams left. Didnt Deion "retire" from us- just to get out of contract and play resumed with the Ravens?

Plummer didn't walk away from the type of money that Palmer is threatening to.
Speaking of Plummer, great read here

What did Jordan have left to prove when he retired? Ricky was a burnout when he walked away. If palmer would really retire with so much left to prove in his career then he's just not the type of player anymore that i would want to trade for. I don't know how the GM's around the league feel about it but that "I will Retire" ploy players use really leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the player.

True, but Palmer is already financially secure. He does not really need the money.

Report: Carson Palmer says he'll never play for Cincinnati Bengals again - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6172018)
Palmer seems pretty determined, could get interesting. I wonder if the Bengles are scouting QBs at the no. 4 pick?

I think Palmer is dead serious. Sounds like the losing and Paul Brown's terrible orgainzation has worn thin on Palmer. But he has to realize that he's part of the problem.

Vet min plus incentives. Done.
Seriously, he's obviously not worth it for us.
1) They'd probably want to trade him, and we DEFINITELY don't want to dump more draft picks on old aging QB's.
2) He probably wouldn't want to come here the way we've treated McNabb, lack of consistent offense and wide receivers.
3) Not sure he's much of an upgrade from McNabb, Grossman and Locker who we're going to draft at #10.
Don't even think about it folks, he would be a terrible fit in this offense.
