SolidSnake84 01-24-2011, 02:43 PM Do you take the Brunell of the Joe2 era or current Rex?
Brunell from Joe2 era. I'd take the Brunell of 2005 over Rex. Brunell knew the offense, didn't turn the ball over, and made big plays when we needed it. The 2005 season statistically was the best of his career, I think. When the skins were that good in 2005, only god knows why they decided to overhaul everything after a 10-6 season...

warpaint 01-24-2011, 04:14 PM I believe he was pointing that at me,but everything you say is true also.my animosity should run toward Gibbs for overpaying his ass.Yeah brunell was great in Jacksonville, but here he wasnt any better than Ramsey. We won with brunell in spite of him,not because of him.He didnt throw a lot of interceptions because all his throws were 10 yrds or less.I couldnt wait for him to be gone. The record he set against Houston should have an asterisk beside it.
Amen. Those where the worst years of my life having to watch him play here. To say he got a raw deal or was a scapegoat is off the mark. He screwed us with shitty play.

Final Cutler injury update: Grade II MCL tear | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/24/final-cutler-injury-update-grade-ii-mcl-tear/)
Now I can say what I have held back until now: all of those who ripped Cutler for not playing, whether they are Bears fans or not, should be ashamed. It is not right to hate on someone like that without knowing the facts.

Regardless of the injury, his demeanor could have been a bit more encouraging to his teammates on the sidelines yesterday. I get that he was frustrated, but that's as good a time as any to rally beside your teammates, particularly the 3rd string QB trying to get you to the Super Bowl

Yeah but that his been MO his entire career...when it comes to body language dude just does the wrong things as well... Immaturity is one of those "intangibles" you get with Cutler as well, you sign up with that when you make that trade

SirClintonPortis 01-24-2011, 07:54 PM Cutler had ample oppurtunity to quit much earlier in the season as well. Even though I DO feel a little skeptical, if the he couldn't physically plant his foot or drop back without being significantly hindered and thus become a liability to his team, so be it.

Agreed. I don't ? his toughness. He played a whole year with diabetes and he never knew it and on top of that, the injuries that come with the pounding he took. He is a tough ****er like every NFL player.

I agree with that. Unfortunately that is Cutler being Cutler.
But that criticism is not the same as the "Cutler is a pussy" venom that has been passed around. That is really unfair.
By the way I am not a Cutler lover. But the guy got a raw deal and, given the typical responses of hateful people, that raw deal will stick with him.
