Hey I'm not here to start bashing the guy. I'm just saying that he's lazy and could be even better if he was using that same speed on every play.Really? If our D had 11 guys who played as "lazy" as Orakpo, this would be a top-5 unit. Get a clue.

How did Phil Taylor, Andy Dalton, Vincent Brown, Titus Young, Austin Pettis and Casey Matthews look in this game?

What I found interesting was when Mayock broke down Locker's footwork. His base is initially very narrow and then becomes really wide. They then said that that was like an infielder's throwing motion. He actually was a pitcher and outfielder

Perhaps some of Locker's issues are fixable.

I took note of that too... Gotta think back to Tebow last year. He looked worse than Locker, had inferior mechanics yet he did alright...

I wasn't actually paying much attention, but Taylor did power over a guard in the game.

Caught a glimpse of the game. Hopefully it re-airs today, early.

Yeah but Tebow was also the golden boy with unmatched intangibles, and something no one else can ever have.... The jump pass.

I voted QB but, with so many areas of need, a case can be made for every position listed in the poll choices. We should take a QB only if one can be found deemed to be the longterm solution to the problem at the position. Otherwise, make an attempt to trade out and help fill the other needy areas.

SirClintonPortis, how are you this fine day?

Just a point I would like to make here. It's very difficult to change habits that have been formed for many years. That being said, I don't think the correct way of planting ones lower body will benefit some athletes that play a specialized position like QB.

This might be the reason Kyle Shanahan does not emphasis making corrections to what's natural to QBs, in other words, let them play with what comes natural to them. Of course, if it is a glaring problem then show the proper way to do the same task correctly.

Agreed. Ponder resembles a Pennington with legs and maybe a better deep ball.

If Ponder is in fact a Pennington clone with a stronger arm we would be smart to go after him.

Yes, muscle memory is not easy to "re-encode" yet if applied with much effort, the "new code" will "overwrite" the "old code". I think footwork is more "coachable" than many other aspects that goes into a QB's throw since.

I don't think planting is irrelevant to QB'ing since the QB uses the whole body to throw. A slight difference body part positioning is very likely to affect how the ball is going to come out.

I don't have a horse in this race as I don't know any of the QBs well enough, but I did think what Mayock pointed was interesting.
