mooby 01-27-2011, 07:10 PM Last I heard of Maybin he was soooo good the Bills were putting him on the inactive list, even though he was completely healthy. We're really lucky the Bills had a stroke of genius and took Maybin instead of Orakpo. If we get Von Miller I'd be perfectly happy with that. And remember Orakpo's stock was rising throughout the '09 offseason and he still fell to us at #13.

I can't see Miller falling below #5. He's an outstanding player and supposedly an even better person.

I don't think many people thought Orakpo was going to slip to #13 either. As many people have said, a lot can happen between now and April. I just hope things work out to where teams needs are higher for other positions than LB and he can fall to us. How crucial was that Jacksonville game now?!?

I thought so, but you're right a lot can change. A month ago I thought Miller was our guy. Now, I dont. Much of that has to do with Luck out

Truuuuue, but anything can happen. I thought Orakpo would go to KC at #3 in '09, but they took Tyson Jackson. I thought there was no way in hell the Bills would pass him up at #11, but they went for Maybin instead. I mean who knows, if Millers' stock solidifies in the top 5 he might not fall to the 10th spot, but there are 9 teams ahead of us that just might decide they have 9 other spots more important than OLB, and that's all it takes.
mooby 01-27-2011, 11:38 PM Anybody read this article about The Rule of 26-27-60 (http://blog.redskins.com/2011/01/27/the-other-senior-bowl-quarterbacks/#continued)? Now I'm not sure of the success percentage rate of qb's that do meet the standards of this rule, but that's got to be encouraging for fans of Dalton and McElroy, who I haven't heard barely anything about in the so far limited pre-draft hype. Now looking at the stats there are successfull quarterbacks in the NFL that didn't pass this rule, Favre, Rodgers and McNabb amongst them, but there are a lot of first round draft pick quarterback busts who were drafted high but failed this rule. From this year's class the guys who passed were Ponder, Dalton, McElroy, and Gabbert.
Son Of Man 01-27-2011, 11:56 PM Hey I'm not here to start bashing the guy. I'm just saying that he's lazy and could be even better if he was using that same speed on every play.
Lazy ass 2 time Pro-Bowler.

Terpfan76 01-28-2011, 11:12 AM Maybe you were confusing the "being strangled by offensive tackles" with being lazy. I think he was suffering from oxygen deprivation, not laziness lol...
Now in hind sight, would you be happier now with Rak, or with Clay Matthews Jr?
Monksdown 01-28-2011, 11:14 AM He's not lazy at all. he's been held as terpfan said. And he only has one move. the speed rush coming around low on tackles. He was bulkier in college, he admits that. said he had to lighten the weightlifting a bit to increase endurance and less wear and tear for the longer season. So he is staying healthy, but he's slightly less effective, plus playing against better talent. He needs another move, more strength. and someone from the other side to compliment.
BleedBurgundy 01-28-2011, 12:17 PM After putting up with McNabb for 3/4 of a year, if we take Newton, it's going to be really hard to support this team. As I've said in a previous post, when a large portion of the fanbase can see a train wreck coming, but the FO still makes the move, then has it blow up in their face, they have to take the hit. I see Newton being this years Rodgers/Quinn. Bottom 3rd of the 1st rd wouldn't be a surprise with all of his flags. Taking him at 10 is a reach.
