Yeah but Orakpo lasting til #13 didn't seem likely either
It will take another strong effort from other teams drafting badly to leave Von Miller at #10. Case in point, Al Davis drafts Darius Heyward-Bey at #7 overall. I literally almost shit myself when I saw that on draft day. That is the big reason that Orakpo was left when our pick came up.

Have you truly not realized this? It was his biggest knock coming out of college also.
He's a great player, in fact our best player.. but lazy.
So lazy, in fact, that ESPN festured his now infamous weight-lifting routine at UT. You know, the routine that involves free-weights and over-sized chains. In fact alot of the pre-raft talk was about how he is a gym rat. Sounds lazy to me. The loafer!

First I've ever heard of someone calling him lazy.
One of his best attributes to me is his motor. If he takes plays off, I've never seen it and I'm usually watching him on D.
I can't speak for what he did in college, but if he's lazy in the pros, I'm just not seeing it, nor have I heard anyone but you mention it.
Got any examples to back this claim up? Clips, highlights, etc?
His best attribute is his motor and burst, there's no doubt.. but what I see from him is that he's unable to be consistent throughout a full defensive series.
I can't really show you anything considering I would only be able to find highlights, but take note next time..

YouTube - Redskins select Brian Orakpo in the 2009 NFL Draft (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHNtH7EPEgs)So lazy he was Big 12 Defensive player of the year. I guess an 80% Rak was that much better than everyone else in the Big 12 that year. I'm sure Mayock had credible reports from somewhere, but I haven't seen it since he's been here.
Does the Rak look a bit lost in space/coverage, yes at times. But keep in mind he's a true RDE and plays much better with his hand in the dirt. If we had stayed in the 4-3 and put him at RDE, he probably would have 12 - 18 sacks per yr., every year....but that's water under the bridge.

Hey I'm not here to start bashing the guy. I'm just saying that he's lazy and could be even better if he was using that same speed on every play.

I would have loved to see Orakpo with his hand on the ground for a full season. I really don't care for him as a LB!

Just think if we had held onto J. Taylor at end opposite Rak in a 43. I've never watched him live, but I can't imagine opposing OC's game planning and shifting protection to his side if they know he's a lazy player. C'mon
