Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords shot in Arizona

Looks like a kid did the shooting and I say kid because they say he's 22.. So I'm only a couple years older.

I checked out his youtube vids and I know a lot of people have fringe beliefs... But I can see how they can connect at least to what going on in the mainstream.. But his stuff just seems way, way out there.

He is another one of these guys who was convinced he was so much smarter than the rest of us. He was clearly convinced that b/c no one agreed with him they were simply incapable of understanding him.

TO ALL SIMILAR ASSHOLES: We understand what you're saying. We just don't agree. You're not smarter than everyone else. In fact, you clearly aren't nearly as smart as you think you are. By the way, murder is always wrong.

Extremely sad and senseless for all involved. This kid is quite the nut job.

Saw the dad of the 9 yr old on TV today and taken back that he would agree to an interview after just loosing his daughter. I also couldn't believe that someone would even approach him for an interview. This event has become very political and the girls father even said he believed in our freedom and would not want anything to change over this.

Nut job is putting it lightly... What point is he making or trying to make with his "if-then" statement? I really cant understand what he is trying to get at...

Loughner expressed his interest in grammar and logic on the Internet as he made bizarre claims - such as that the Mars rover and the space shuttle missions were faked.

He frequently used "if-then" constructions in making nonsensical arguments. For instance: "If the living space is able to maintain the crews life at a temperature of -454F then the human body is alive in the NASA Space Shuttle. The human body isn't alive in the NASA Space Shuttle. Thus, the living space isn't able to maintain the crews life at a temperature of -454F."

So I have not watch much news over the past few days until last night. I had to check out MSNBC and CNN to see their twist on this and it seems like they think Sarah Palin bought the guy the gun and ask him to shoot the people. They point to this stupid map from a few years ago on seats she thought they could win in the mid term elections. It was all they could talk about on MSNBC for 2 or 3 hours and I'm guessing sense Sat. after the shooting and the wonder why their ratings are so low.

And it's about time hacks like her realize that yes, the craziness they spew to their followers can have an impact like this. I'm not blaming her, just saying it's not out of the question for some wack job like this kid to latch on to something she says and run wild with it.

Sure, it may have been his idea but a sane person wouldn't have followed it. Hell, I guess you could use the same logic for Bin Laden.

Seriously though, yes, it is up to the individual to act and its almost impossible to say how a mentally unstable person is going to interpret any given thought but at least SOME blame has to fall on those sending out the message. I'm not saying Palin is directly or even partially responsible for this tragedy in Arizona, but what does she expect to eventually happen when she uses her type of rhetoric?

It's plain irresponsible to use this tragedy as a launching point to discuss the nature of rhetoric in our country as it applies to politics. It had nothing to do with politics...at all. It's pathetic that this is what the situation has become.

Its the left again that keeps saying how dumb she is but they are so scared of her they have to run her into the dirt every chance they get. See if she was really some hack no one would pay any attention to her. Its also funny that its the left that keeps SP name in the news. If they would just shut up about her you might see her in the news once a month instead of all day everyday at MSNBC.

Look around she has said nothing until today because of the 24 hour news about her and this on MSNBC and CNN. Hell even Matty listed links to the shit MSNBC is saying.
