Guys, by the 10th pick, all the good QB's will be gone.. I strongly thing we need to stick to that pick and get Robert Quinn or Daquan Bowers if he drops to help our Defense line.. we were ranked 31st in the league guys on Defense and i'm not sure how bad our sack numbers were this year..Jake is going to be a major bust if we draft him like a Colt Brennan..we gotta stick to Defense because even if we get a QB we're still hurting big time on D and next year we can maybe get Luck or another stud QB now that these teams don't need a QB.. Reverse psychology! :D Rd1 DE/OLB Rd2: O-line/WR rd3 maybe we can find a stud qb no one knows about.. I mean c'mon if bellichick can do it and find brady in round 6?? wth why cant shanaman do it?? We need proven players who will make immediate impact for our team.. Qb's are very risky and dangerous. I just don't feel comfortable pickin a QB at 10.. if we're talkin top 5 picks then diff story but..idk.. Grossman wasn't that bad.. idk what u guys think??
QUINN??? ORAKPO?? Quinn is suppose to be the next D-Ware.. I really think he can rock and him and orakpo will just smush opposing QB's

I jus hate waiting all this time and seeing us get destroyed every season because one side of the ball OFFENSE or DEFENSE can't stick it to the opposing teams.. Its like if the O does good the D does bad... if the D does good O does bad.. We need one side to be real strong while the other just hangs in and we strengthen it through FA (WR/Oline/RB)

I say we draft Mallett if he falls to us. He IMO is the best QB in this years draft, and is as good as Andrew Luck.
However I say him and all the other good QB's will be gone by the time we pick. We need to draft lines, yes, but you have to factor in us getting guys in free agency. That said I feel that after free agency is all said and done, we trade down and draft an OLineman like pouncey or rodney hudson. Than get a RB, like a Mark Ingram.
I feel like we will get in FA a WR like Vincent Jackson. At least one starting caliber OLineman. And I think we could go hard after Ike Taylor the solid corner from Pittsburgh.
Cameron Hayward and JJ Watt are other possibilities for us in the first round.

Mine and other folks on the board sleeper (now that Luck won't come out) can be had in the 3rd or 4th round. I really like this kid better than the guys in the 1st round.

I believe NE has 2 2nd round picks correct? So we would obtain their 2 2nd round picks, and their 3rd... How is that not value?
Maybe I made a typo on my original comment. I'm to lazy to go back a few pages and check though..
I like the idea of trading back as well.
Just thought you were leaving out a second 2nd round pick for no apparent reason.
Three good picks for the #10 overall makes much more sense.

I don't know if the want to pay for 3X 1st round picks, but you never know.
This is the list of the Patriots draft picks going into the 2011 NFL Draft:

1st Round – #32*

2nd Round – #64*

3rd Round – #96*

5th Round
6th Round (NO – David Thomas)

I would like scenario where we drop to the middle/bottom of the first round and pick up Pouncey.

Yeah.. I would love for Pouncey to be our first round pick. Just having the image of a real stud in the middle of our line who doesn't get pushed 3 yards into the backfield into our RB's face, or stepping on our QB's feet..
It would be ideal.

A pipe dream is a fantastic hope or plan that is generally regarded as being nearly impossible to achieve, originating in the 19th century as an allusion to the dreams experienced by smokers of opium pipes.
Sorry I had a real response hammered out about how combined with the great free agent class and Shanahan not drafting a guard or Center before round 3 since Lennie Friedman in 1999. However the pipe dream thing seemed like more fun, even if it was at the expense of making myself look like a total ass :D
