Man, this kid makes me LOLS like I've never LOLZD before. "You use the 'Twitter?' HA! Clearly you are a biased journalist." skinster 01-05-2011, 11:52 AM What I want more than anything in this draft is a QB It seems more and more like the qbs are all going to slip. I wouldnt mind going for the best available player with the 10, then trade back into the mid 20's and snag Locker or Mallett. It's risky but I'd pull the trigger. Hopefully this year's 2nd/6th and next years 3rd can do it. mooby 01-05-2011, 12:03 PM What I want more than anything in this draft is a QB It seems more and more like the qbs are all going to slip. Hopefully this year's 2nd/6th and next years 3rd can do it. To trade back into the first round this year with our 2nd round pick would require our first next year as well. I don't think anybody has ever traded back into the first round without either giving up multiple 2nd round picks or their first for next season. mooby 01-05-2011, 12:15 PM According to this (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5991207) article Marvin Lewis and Carson Palmer will both be back for the Bengals next season. Only reason I'm posting that in here is because I feel the Bengals are taking themselves out of the discussion of drafting a qb this year, which is a good thing for us. Palmer didn't have a great year, esp. with throwing 20 picks, but I think once Ocho Cinco and Owens weren't playing he became a lot better, and I'd guess it's because he didn't have to worry about getting them their touches. I'd say it was a little too small of a sample size to draw that conclusion... but if that is correct, then it says a lot about his leadership skills. He needs to be in charge of that team and if that means he has to jump down #85's throat, then so be it. mooby 01-05-2011, 12:29 PM I'd say it was a little too small of a sample size to draw that conclusion... but if that is correct, then it says a lot about his leadership skills. He needs to be in charge of that team and if that means he has to jump down #85's throat, then so be it. It also helped that their no name wideouts like Simpson stepped up bigtime against the Chargers and Ravens (despite losing that game). And maybe you're right, it does say a lot about his leadership skills, but since Lewis is going to be back and they need a lot of help in other areas of the roster, I think it's safe to take them out of the qb discussion. They were iffy on getting a new qb to begin with, but it looks like Lewis is content having Palmer around next season. Lotus 01-05-2011, 12:43 PM Given our DL troubles, does anyone think that we could get DE Nick Fairley from Auburn, or will he be gone by #10? SmootSmack 01-05-2011, 12:45 PM Gone by 10 I'm sure...I think Chico23231 01-05-2011, 12:49 PM Given our DL troubles, does anyone think that we could get DE Nick Fairley from Auburn, or will he be gone by #10? I thought he played DT in a 4-3 at Auburn? I would prefer a true DE |
