Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread

The season is over and out comes "revisionist history" brought to you by Rosie Scenario.

The WRs on the 2010 Washington Redskins are sub-standard by NFL standards. Santana Moss is good - - but hardly excellent. All of the others - - and I do mean ALL of the others - - have that thing called "potential" which really means they have not yet proven that they are any good. Think about the really good WRs in the NFL. How many of them get rave reviews because of their "potential"? None of them do - - because they have shown that they are really good and are not pretenting to be someone about to become really good.

The Skins have bigger needs than WR for next year; that is for sure. But this group of WRs is mediocre and nothing more. That is how it has been for about 5 years now and that is how it will stand until and unless new blood is added to the mix.

I liked everything except him trying to throw a stupid shoulder into Eli. If that were Fletcher, Eli would STILL be feeling that hit.
Haha, True enough. Keep in mind Fletch has a heavier build and probably weighs twice as much.

I know some of you don't want to hear or agree with me, but there is a strong possibility that Big Al will be back next season. It all depends on Shanahan talking with Big Al and listening to what Al's attitude is all about.

.

You really think that Shanahan really wants AH back ?

He may not play in every down but what Al brings to the table can be beastly as a part time DE on the right side or attack the offensive line of the opponent at there weakest man. However, if we trade him we should get at least a 3rd rounder for him.

I think this draft the Skins will go defensive line. They need a blue chip nose tackle.

Yes there is a possibility, but I would put the chances of AH coming back under 20%(or 1 our of every 5 times), which is certainly not "strong". AH wants to do things AH's way, Mike wants it done Mike's way.

There is no way AH plays for the Skins next season. No way!

After reading this, the answer is no way!

Haynesworth was at Redskins Park Monday for the first time since his Dec. 7 suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. Shanahan did not seek him out for a meeting.

"The last time he was in the building, he would not meet with me, Shanahan said. So it is what it is. ... I really didn't think much about it, to be honest with you. I knew he had to come in for a physical. I thought he may stop by; wasn't really sure. He did not."

Nah, Barnes can hit with the best of them, he stopped Jacobs head-on once with a big hit and made that TD-saving ankle tackle on him another play.

Not sure what happened with that hit on Eli...bad angle I guess.

VERY impressive...I want him starting at FS next season. He can definitely handle it.

Another game, another loss, same goats...Gano and Rabach. :pffff:

As for Rex...he scares me but we knew that's his game...makes huge plays...then make twice as many embarrassing blunders.

I'd love to keep him as McNabb's backup.

Yes, I still think McNabb will be and should be back as a starter with an upgraded line.

Keep him on a leash, but as we're bragging about 3 receivers with 800+ yards...remember most of them were from Donovan. He made a lot of mistakes but make him step up and learn the system. He signed the extension, make him work for his money...no more simple outs.

Give him the chance to prove himself in year #2. If he can't by mid-season, Rex will come in and save the day...THEN part ways with #5. For what we gave up for him and the potential he still has...we can't give up on him after a baker's dozen of games.

McNabb was not the whole problem on offense this season.

How about Anthony Bryant yesterday? The guy was a damn beast at the nose.
Yep, a few of us have been calling for him since he impressed in preseason. Not sure what took so long, maybe he's not a good practice player?

Yeah same here, I was just mocking the people on this board that think our wideouts suck. And Moss def. needs to be resigned, it's like the FOX announcers said, you only let him go if you have a plan/good option to replace him with, and I don't see it this year in free agency. Between Moss/Armstrong/Cooley, I think they are all dependable and we've got wildcards in Austin/Kelly/Banks. If we went into next year with the same wr corps I wouldn't be disappointed, esp. with have bigger positions of need across the board.

Yeah, before the season I wasn't really worried about re-signing Moss. When he started talking about they told him they'd use him in more ways and Andre Johnson told him that's something that Kyle will do and it'll open him up a lot I got a little excited. His performance this year definitely showed he's still got some game in him, did you see him actually TRYING to gain extra yards yesterday? First time in awhile.

Yeah, I saw and heard Shanahan and I agree. I don't think he will return. Do you think Haynesworth is pissed because he will have to go out and work hard again. If Jeff Fisher keeps his job, look for Big Al to return from once he came.
