Clinton Portis wants a pay raise???

I really hope Portis is joking in this article, but with what he said about playing in Denver, i'm not so sure...

“I played for pennies in Denver and I would be considered awesome,” he said. “I gave everything I had in Washington and was supposedly overpaid and the last two years, when I’ve been on IR it’s like he’s overpaid and don’t deserve it. There’s plenty of people around the NFL whose stats don’t come close, who making the same kind of money as I’m making. So that’s up to them. I can’t sit here and say, ‘Oooh, I want to take a pay cut.’

Then he laughed and said: “I really want a pay raise, to be honest. That’s up to them.”



I really want to know who the other players whose stats "didn't come close". Except in 2008, where he got off to a good start before falling apart, He has played like trash in 2009 and 2010. I want to know who he seriously thinks he is better than.

What has he even done here in the last 3 years to suggest we over pay this guy again? I have nothing against him anymore, but i really hope we move on from this guy. No good things can come from keeping him on the team. The Shanahans are all supposedly about new blood and modest contracts. Keeping Portis and Paying him more money is counterproductive...thoughts???
