Won't happen.

This is what irks me...
McNabb gets benched the second time and he's not happy.(I figured season over their protecting him)

McNabb, I hear, on the radio saying he practiced Mon thru Wed and expected to play two weeks ago, but instead they choose Grossman. He said he was not happy but excepted it. Then he hears on ESPN that he's benched the rest of the season. So did the Shanahan's explain it to him and he only listened to what he wanted to hear or did the Shanahan's simply omit that part? and yes McNabb stated he was not happy with how it all went down.

Then McNabb's agent starts talking and says McNabb is not happy and doesn't know why a HOF QB is riding the bench. He said a bunch of other crap too.

Then the KS says he doesn't know what the agent is talking about. He has a sit down with McNabb and all is well, and McNabb is supposedly baffled as to his agents statements.

McNabb tells the media "I want to be here next year".

Now he supposedly wants to be released? Can McNabb make up his F-ing mind or atleast get all this garbage straightened out?

At this point Grossman looks good to run the team and it probably would be best to just TRADE McNabb for any type of draft pick we can get.

I also think we can get a high 3rd for number 5. Deuces

I think that was a shrewd contractual move by Bruce Allen, don't you think? Vinny could have never been that creative or forward thinking.

A belated attempt at rectifying his original mistake of making such a trade. The handwriting was on the wall long before he decided to go that route.

5th rounder at best.

Jus look at all the trades that went down last year, most trades were for a 5th rounder for guys much younger than DM.

A 3rd is probably unrealistic.

So what's it look like a 5th for McNabb and a 5th for AH?

I truly hope none of you are actually wanting Rex Grossman to be the Skins Starting QB next year. He is a bum and always will be. Some Qb's are meant to be back ups and he is one of them.

We're talking about a player that just a few short months ago was deemed our temporary savior at the QB position, team leader, captain, the Elway-east......now may not even fetch a 3rd round d/p. Amazing how things can change in such a short order. [sarc]

When talking about trade value, lets remember how McNabb got here - a 2010 2nd rounder and a conditional pick in 2011 that ended up being a 4th rounder (the equivalent of a 2010 5th rounder. A number of teams were allegedly interested in McNabb, but no one wanted to give up a 2nd rounder as high as what the Redskins gave up. The eagles traded McNabb TO A DIVISION RIVAL, because no other NFL team thought he was worth a top 5 pick in the 2nd round.... this after being the franchise quarterback for 11 years. McNabbs horrible play in 2010 has solidified what 30 other NFL teams already guessed - McNabb is garbage.

Barring a pre-season injury to a starting QB in a WCO system combined with a panic move made by a GM or coach on the hotseat, I dont think we get much of anything for him. My best guess would be a conditional 2012 pick that could range anywhere from nothing to a 5th rounder. And i think we get nothing in return. I hate to say it, but i really think we would be best off cutting him and moving on. Any compensation we get in return is not worth the distraction of his presence here.

We have him under contract, which is probably the ONLY thing that will allow us to actually TRADE him and not have to release him. Someone is going to want him come Jan, or Feb. Vikings maybe? They are great at giving up draft picks for guys (ala Moss)

I was thinking of the Vikings before, but remember, chilly is gone. Whether Frazier stays on as the permanent HC or a new coach is brought in, there's no garauntee the Vikings will stick with a WCO. As of right now, I don't see a single team in the NFL that runs a WCO similar to Phillys that needs a QB. I honestly dont think there will even be a market for McNabb.
