My feeling's about McNabb really haven't changed since he was an Iggle. I'm not sure what everyone was expecting....

That goes in regards to MS as well. He obviously didn't perform a proper vetting process prior to giving up draft picks we need for a QB that didn't fit the system he was planning to implement.

Call me crazy but for some reason I am really confident in Rex with this offense. I'm actually looking forward to seeing him run it again Sunday.

What is the freaking love affair with McNabb??? What has he done as a Redskins to deserve anything?? It obvious he doesn't want to learn the system, so get rid of him!!! I like Shanahan's philosophy of playing the best player no matter how much money he makes, or his draft position..Why should MS worries about his feelings??No player on this 5-9 team deserve anything. People act like DM was a great Redskin like Sonny Jurgensen, and they can't believe MS disrespected him..Goodbye DM, and goodbye to all the cry baby players that feel disrespected because they weren't told earlier in the week they suck..Is the outrage in DC that MS bench a black QB or is it because he bench the great Redskins DM? Would there be so much outrage if MS bench Rex, and didn't tell him until Thursday?

First, welcome to the Warpath,
Second...I have no love affair with McNabb at all...my point is that we have far greater needs than QB at this point...everyone knows that...our oline is a disaster...and the gamble in getting McNabb was that he would be able to hold down the fort for 3 years or so behind a rebuilding line with mediocre talent...that gamble so far has failed...why was it a gamble...because we risked 2 critical picks that would be available to us to shore up the oline to get him....now we don't have those pick AND we are going to dump the guy we bought with them...that is clearly a fail...if you really think Rex Grossman is better than McNabb...please state so...but do not make assumptions of my position on McNabb because I believe Shanny is not playing his cards right.
BTW...I don't care about players feelings or certainly what color, religion or whatever sex they are...if they are talented...they need to be maximized...no one can claim Shanny has done that with either McNabb nor Haynesworth....I would suggest that other coaches in the NFL could have gotten more production out of both of them.

Do I think McNabb is fantastic....absolutely not...do I think he is better than anyone else on the squad or any FA that may be available....probably....so why ditch the guy and open up a glaring hole when we are bleeding badly in so many other locations?
That is my point.

Rebuilding a team has a lot to do with timing as much as it does to do with money, number of picks, etc...I just think the timing sucks for having no starter even before the offseason starts....It hurts our leverage in the draft, McNabb trade value, and the cost of FA Qbs.
What ever happened to keeping your cards close to the vest?

Love affair? I think you're mistaken. A majority of the NFL fanbase always seem to side with the coach or management whenever there's some sort of rift between the player and management/coach. Your response to this matter is typical, the positive responses you're seeing are definitely in the minority.

Most of the fanbase in general detest Donovan McNabb. Just look at any conversation on ESPN.com whenever this QB drama is brought up. Sure you have your Shannahan bashers, but a majority of the posters are siding and supporting Shannahan.

I don't really agree with this statement.
I would say that most Skins fans are disappointed with McNabb's performance this year but respect McNabb as a player due to his past handlings of controversial issues, his leadership and performance on the field.
I fall into that category...and I'd guess that 80% of warpather's would agree.

I seriously doubt the majority of skins fans Detest McNabb

Fans are jealous and love to see a guy fall down, even if he's a respected guy in the locker room and by other players around the league.

Also, people love authority figures with a great public image of themselves. The "In Shanny I Trust" slogan was being tossed around all over the place for quite a while.

^ the " in Shanny I trust" slogan is still alive for me.. I have no doubt that he will create a playoff contender in Wsh, in 2 years when we finish 11-5 and win the east you will "trust" him also

I do trust him...or his actual past track record.
Offense will be revived.
Defense will always be "in development" but never good
Flaky free agent deals.
and of course...no SBs because SB-winning coaches never win one after leaving the team they won SB(s) with.

^ don't give up on him yet bro, he's a good coach and has been his whole career.. The guy is highly talked of here even 20 plus years after he coached at OU.. He knows the game just takes time to turn our bush league team around
