We can corner the market on 2nd round Dolphin busts!
This what you want or what you think will happen? Or both?More of a think. I'd be in favor of picking up Henne's remaining contract year for a good price, but if we draft a guy in the first two rounds, I'd prefer to just let him play from day one.

I really hate the way this has played out with McNabb. Frankly, I am rather embarrassed by how the Shanahans have handled it, it is just another blunder this organization seems to continually make.
Rex did well yesterday, but it was one game so I would not get too excited about it.My thoughts exactly.
For the poll, I picked Locker with the hopes that we can trade back in the draft to get him and an extra pick or two.

Grossman will be going into year 3 in this offense, I think he can get us by in the short run until a rook is ready. Beck will be back as the #2.
I agree with this but don't look forward to a season with Rex as the starter.

I dont think Rex is signed for next year so if he lights it up during his audition as a Skin he could be a hot free agent. If that happens is Rex someone the Skins would want to get into a bidding war for?

The only way I would see that happening would be if Luck declares for the draft and goes #1 and then someone pulls the trigger and picks Cam Newton and probably Mallet as well. Having said that I would like Locker over anyone other than Luck so I hope it plays out like this.
Sorry I should elaborate on what I meant, I was talking about as far as being able to trade back in the draft and pick up Locker.

I doubt 'Rex Grossman' and 'hot free agent' would ever be used in the same sentence unless he gets a divorce and he's featured in some strange cougar publication.
That being said, I think we're brining Rexy back (YEAH). The Shanahans don't know how to act (YEAH). Sorry, too much sugar this morning so I was channeling Timberlake for a second.
In all seriousness, Rex likely will open at starting QB in '11. I expect us to draft a QB with our 1st round pick but only after trading down at least once. The smart money is on Locker being the pick-although I don't really love that choice because he's got some serious question marks based on his '10 season.
We can probably recoup our 4th by dealing McNabb so if we can trade down, pick up a third, recoup our 4th then going QB in the 1st round won't be a bad move at all since this is a weak draft for OL.

I hope it's Luck but I am going with Locker because I don't think we can pull off the trade up for Luck. Then again since the question is opening day it could be Rex keeping the seat warm for locker, but I said Locker because the thought of opening the season with Rex as the starter turns my stomach.

Chad Henne.
Chad Henne=Patrick Ramsey. Seen that movie, know how it ends, not interested in the sequel.

I voted Locker, as Smoot keeps saying the shannys dig him alot. Hopefully, this will be the final year we have a draft pick this high in the 1st round, so this is the ideal time to draft a franchise QB.Right now, i'm assuming we have a draft pick no lower than 7, and, if we took a qb that high in the draft, he'd be expected to start opening day.
Although Rex seems like the safe pick, I also think he's in a position to make him the #1 FA QB available. That said, I don't think any team will break the bank for him, so if we want to, we should be able to resign him.
Personally, i think we should trade whatever we have to to get Luck. Seriously, the dudes going to be one of the best QBs ever. I'd trade our 1st and 2nd this year, plus our 1st rounders the next two years to move up 5-6 spots to get him.
