Boy does everybody really think we don't have a 2nd this year because of the McNabb trade? We gave them our 2nd from last year, which turned into Nate Allen for Philly.

I know LOL I just forgot all about it man..

For an Arizona or Minnesota it would have made sense, not for a team like ours who was rebuilding.

It doesn't make sense to rebuild with a veteran QB?

Locker should be a safety, not a QB. I'm with you on Mallet.

Yea but they said the same about Tebow and he's already got 2 TDs in his first start, Yes Tebow is better than Locker but some actually think Jake will be a good qb

id rather draft a qb in the 2nd round or later to develop for a year or 2. i dont like jake locker much and im not sure mallett would be a good fit here. not too mobile.

When do these second round QB's work out? Drafting a QB in the second round is a protective projection. The last quality second round QB was Drew Brees and he was drafted 32nd overall which today would qualify as a first round pick, and before that it was Brett Favre.

These days if you're lucky you get a second round QB thats on par with Chad Henne. Basically the best QB's come from either the first round or random spots late in the draft and you don't bank on those guys because if you're dense enough to do that you end up with Troy Smith as your franchise QB

At the very least scouts are good at identifying the best QB prospects year in and year out which is usually why they're all gone by the time the second round rolls around. If we're going to draft a real QB of the future we're going to do it right and take one in the first round.

It doesn't make sense to trade away picks for anything short term with regards to a rebuild. You're looking for long term gems when rebuilding and you build around those guys. You make trades for vets after establishing a solid core of guys to build around, like the Jets and Baltimore did.

I think that at the beginning of this season, Shanahan wanted to see if he could win right away, and hoped that McNabb would hold down the QB job for a season or 2 while another long-term QB was found.

I think McNabb was too old (34 years old), to be figured into a long-term equation, and which is why i was baffled at the contract extension that they gave donovan, before i learned that Washington had an out after 1 season..

Rex Grossman was pretty damn good today. 4 TD's from a Redskins QB is pretty good this season, and if Rex keeps it up, i think the Redskins have their starter for a few years...

Not when you're giving up two draft picks. Yes a veteran would have been great, but we had to gamble and give up draft picks that we could have used to address other issues while rebuilding.

Cant really be mad for the last pick. There were 13 seconds left with no timeouts and nowhere near field goal range. No chance to throw the ball down the middle of the field and clock it. Just not enough time left when they started that drive w/ no timeouts. Grossman made our offense look like it belonged in the NFL, doesnt make McNabb look very good. He will be on the Vikings or Cardinals or something next season. Know what i liked about this game? We didnt have to watch the typical 5 dirt balls thrown at the feet of open receivers by #5.

Kellen Moore is a 2012 5th round pick at best. AJ Green is a top 5 pick.

Maybe so due to his size. The kid reminds me of Drew Brees, I think he's going to be a good pro. As for Green, most of the teams who'll be drafting in front of us don't need a receiver. I can't see Det, AZ, SF, Carolina, Bengals, taking him. The only team that worries me is Buffalo. With the way they've been playing they might end up 6-10.
