Well I'm glad I held off on buying that #5 jersey I wanted

Agreed. That's what makes it such a dick move, too. McNabb was closing in on a personal and franchise record for completions as well as being our first 4,000 yard passer in this millenium.

Plus, he's been an NFC East guy his whole career. Nobody would have wanted to beat the Cowboys in Dallas more than McNabb.

Seriously? Who gives a **** about his personal records and achievement. The only thing worse than his play is your argument.

I have one question -

If McNabb "played himself out of a position" then how the [BLEEP] is Casey Rabach still starting?

If JT was that good then why did they let him go to the Jets.

They felt that he cost too much and was too old, but he was back to producing once he re-signed with Miami. 7 sacks, 5 pass defensed, and an interception.

Plus he's been transparent when watching Jets games this year.

Ok, I read he was near career high in yardage and thought maybe there was some sort of escalation based on that. Thanks

On another note, Chris Cooley is frustrated, but it's hard to tell who it's with:

Fredericksburg.com - Cooley trying to keep his cool - page 1 FLS (http://fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/2010/122010/12172010/594906/index_html?page=1)

Sounds like he's just fed up with everything... losing, having balls skipped to him or tossed over his head, and the fact that another coaching change has resulted in the same sad results on the field.

I remember back to asking the question,"Why trade for McNabb if you know you are rebuilding?" And I guess this answers the question in the sense that Shanny agrees with me in that it was the wrong move if we are truly "rebuilding." I will agree that this is probably just the Shannies admitting it was a mistake and moving on. I doubt McNabb plays another down for the Redskins, but it is better to admit it was a mistake and move on rather than the alternative.

Good luck to McNabb and I do hope wherever he goes that he finds success as long as it isn't against the Redskins. I do feel he deserved to be treated better than this but this is just part of the business that is the NFL.

To be fair, McNabb has gotten lit up by the Cowboys many more times than he has lit them up, especially last year. I don't think that desire alone would have carried the day. (No I am not saying Grossman would either)

There have been many times where he's had good protection and he's throwing late or into the ground. I haven't see DM throw anyone open this year. The wr's are always reaching back or jumping up high to catch balls. Don't have a problem with them benching him, it's how they handle it that pisses me off.

Oh yeah, McNabb has definitely not played well and hell, in the Tennessee game he had LOADS of time to throw and the O line looked pretty good and he was all over the place. But on the whole it's not a good O line. Especially in the depth department. My problem is the same as yours, I'm baffled at the whole process, from the original trade, to the benching, to the extension, now to the basic firing. It's not the benching of a poor player that erks me, it's the benching of a player we gave up 2 draft picks for and just re signed. Doesn't seem like the habits of a 2 time super bowl winning coach.

Basically this year we payed Albert about 24 mil for 8 games playing about 15 plays per game and a 3.4 mil bonus for Donovan to play 3 or 4 poor games. That's got to be some of the easiest money ever made in the history of man.

The only answer I can think of is that they don't like their options behind Rabach? I think we're stuck with him until the end of the season. The bigger question will be whether they do anything with him in the offseason. If they don't deem replacing him a high enough priority we might see a revolt against the Skins before next season lol.
