I don't think Shanahan is going anywhere, unless we are really determined to keep spinning our wheels, another HC change isn't going to help and will only compound our problems.

And the circus continues. Ahh man. I really help just laughing at this point.

Yeah, Schefter just said "the marriage between the Skins and McNabb is over. It's over."

McNabb will play in Arizona (his home) next year, and then just fade into retirement.

Sigh.

Very striking that history always seems to repeat itself. Jason Taylor goes bye-bye and he started lighting it up in Miami. Watch as McNabb goes to Minny or 'Zona and starts lighting it up with Sidney Rice or Larry Fitz(if Larry wants to stay, that is). Minny runs ReidCO, so he has no transition to worry about.

In many ways, this is reminiscent of Al Saunders lobbying vigorously for Todd Collins to start, to show his offense works. Can't help but think Kyle Shanahan is doing the same here.

Agreed. That's what makes it such a dick move, too. McNabb was closing in on a personal and franchise record for completions as well as being our first 4,000 yard passer in this millenium.

Plus, he's been an NFC East guy his whole career. Nobody would have wanted to beat the Cowboys in Dallas more than McNabb.

It might be a good move to give Grossman more reps against Jacksonville and New York, but you don't have to START the guy to evaluate him! We don't have a chance for a winning season, but we have a shot at avoiding a losing season. Hell, we've got 2 division games left!

And sure, we have to evaluate players, but we're 5-8, eliminated from the playoffs, and playing in the physical manifestation of the collective egos of Jerry Jones and every obnoxious Cowboy fan in the world. I got news for everybody, but Sunday is the Super Bowl for anybody left who cares about this team.

I was unofficial chairman of the "Hire Russ Grimm" coalition before Shanahan was hired, and he has done nothing this season to sway me from my preference. I don't think the guy should be fired, but he is going to have to have a perfect offseason for me to even start to come around . . . especially if his son is sticking around.

The only thing I see that will start to fix this entire organization is something along the lines of a Bucs overhaul. They dumped every veteran on their roster almost and built the team with picks and young free agents. Maybe we don't do well for a season or two, but we haven't been doing well for awhile now. I seriously hope they can do something like this, and I wouldn't be upset if Shanny was still here to do it. I can't believe the number of people that are saying Shanny won't be here next year. I would be shocked if he wasn't.

Agreed. There are still some decent vets that we need to retain, but an overhaul is way long overdue. Just gonna be challenging given the lack of draft picks due to poor mgt./coaching decisions.

Just listening to Theismann on NFL network and not hearing a ringing endorsement of DMac. He says basically that DMac played himself out of the position.

Can't argue with that really

Nope. He does miss a game bonus if he's not on the active roster though

Ok, I read he was near career high in yardage and thought maybe there was some sort of escalation based on that. Thanks

On another note, Chris Cooley is frustrated, but it's hard to tell who it's with:

Also, I think the offense will look better on Sunday, but there will be plenty of WTFs as Grossman throws a few picks. We will get a touchdown though.

We are acting like Donovan won 3 Super Bowls for us. We are benching the QB on a 5-8 team. People are assuming Shanny is done in DC, the team will revolt...it's all nonsense. Shanny is in year 1 of a rebuild. The only legitimate thing on the table today is that maybe McNabb is not coming back next year and we made a bad trade. The rest of this sky is falling stuff is the typical over reaction that happens here in Redskins world.

If JT was that good then why did they let him go to the Jets.

Cooley could simply has a high floor and ceiling. We're NOWHERE near the ceiling. Cooley should be used more. Is 1000 yds for a TE rare? But he is our #1 target, and 1000 yds for your #1 target is not rare.
