scowan 12-14-2010, 04:08 PM Sit the long snapper and the place holder and the kicker. If they make that x-point and the Skins win in Overtime, are we even having this discussion? No, we would be talking about how great a 2 minute offense McNabb ran against the Bucs.
BleedBurgundy 12-14-2010, 04:09 PM I know this, our starting QB next year is either going to be McNabb or a guy not on this roster.
yeah, after this year, I'm really hoping it's the latter.
freddyg12 12-14-2010, 04:14 PM I'm not so sure Mort broke this anyway, Grant Paulson was talking about it over an hour ago. Anyway, I'm not convinced that McNabb is Kyle's guy and reportedly McNabb isn't all that fond of him, not that he has to be. But I wouldn't be stunned if McNabb was taking snaps elsewhere next year.
Are you all in?
Of course, cause of his relation to Logan, first redskin w/a pony tail to score a td.
12thMan 12-14-2010, 04:15 PM I think we're fooling ourselves if we think McNabb is a lock for this team next year. I think it's definitely table.
Longtimefan 12-14-2010, 04:16 PM This situation with McNabb is becoming more and more frustrating. He continues to be a focal point for all he wrong reasons.
skinsguy 12-14-2010, 04:17 PM If true, it sucks that it's coming on Dallas week. No matter what the records are, this is still a rivalry game. Might just be playing for pride, but it's the freakin' Cowboys for Pete's sake.
However, on the other hand, playoff hopes are over so as the season in three weeks. If McNabb sits, it probably means one of two things. Number one, he has nagging injuries that will only heal with rest or two, Mike Shanahan isn't so sure McNabb is the answer and wants to see what Rex can do for the remaining three games.
IF McNabb doesn't start, I am really leaning toward the latter. I would NOT be surprised to see another QB starting for the 'skins next season.
GTripp0012 12-14-2010, 04:17 PM Oh, and I don't think McNabb will be back. I think we'll be able to deal his contract for a 5th round pick to one of the many teams who needs a passer.
I think Cincinnati would be the favorite right now.

Going by his contract "extension" next year is definitely not a lock.
That said I'd rather keep him, bolster the OL and add some more weapons than start over at QB again.
GTripp0012 12-14-2010, 04:21 PM Going by his contract "extension" next year is definitely not a lock.
That said I'd rather keep him, bolster the OL and add some more weapons than start over at QB again.I think we can take for granted that we're using one of our top two picks on a QB, but like last year, I think we go in a very different direction if we take a QB in the top ten/twelve, vs. taking the best available in the second round.
I think, obviously, this team needs a lot of help, certainly some on the OL as well. But we largely ignored the defense last year. I'm thinking if we go the first two rounds of the draft and add no immediate help, there's not going to be a defensive rebound despite all the talent we have on that side of the ball.
Unrelated note: would you actually extend a 35 year old Fletcher? He's going to be in the last year of his contract next season (and one year older, 36).
Monkeydad 12-14-2010, 04:23 PM This isnt a bad move necessarily...all players need evaluated. How would we feel if Rex pulls a Todd Collins and runs the offense effectively? If Rex wins the game and performs well, we might want to wonder about next year, especially if he puts up good numbers...
Dallas week should never be evaluation week. We must win.
