sportscurmudgeon 12-14-2010, 03:24 PM This is the Cowboys. This is our playoffs!
Excuse me. A 5-8 team is playing a 4-9 team. If there is a player on either team who is someone the team would want to keep around for more than another couple of weeks and if that same player is even marginally injured, that player should sit down for this game.
This "rhetorical playoff game" matters not even a bit.
hooskins 12-14-2010, 03:29 PM Rex is so horrible. Hopefully McNabb can play, but he's been hurt all year since the preseason.

Lets just sit everyone then, its over throw in the towel, why even show up we have enough tape on these guys. Redskins vs. Cowboys is the best of the rest of the season. Dmac says he is "100%", he gets hurt he has until next year to worry about it. It not like he has to be back on the field for the real playoffs.
If they think Rex gives us the best chance to win then I am fine with it, but don't use a lost season for the excuse to try out backup QBs.
This isnt a bad move necessarily...all players need evaluated. How would we feel if Rex pulls a Todd Collins and runs the offense effectively? If Rex wins the game and performs well, we might want to wonder about next year, especially if he puts up good numbers...
Don't get your hopes up. Collins had 7 seasons with Saunders' offense, Rex is in year 2 with Kyle S.
BleedBurgundy 12-14-2010, 03:41 PM Seriously, sit McNabb's ass, he's played like shit. Sexy Rexy is obviously not the answer, but through his performance I think we can evaluate the other members of the offense. If he is able to get something out of this ragtag group of retards, then McNabb is part of the problem.
12thMan 12-14-2010, 03:48 PM I'm not so sure Mort broke this anyway, Grant Paulson was talking about it over an hour ago. Anyway, I'm not convinced that McNabb is Kyle's guy and reportedly McNabb isn't all that fond of him, not that he has to be. But I wouldn't be stunned if McNabb was taking snaps elsewhere next year.
Are you all in?

if rex is not the answer...then why play him??? We know #5 is going to be here....let McNabb play with any/all young guys so he can start to build chemistry for next year. McNabb, himself has things he can work on in this offense

We know no such thing.
GTripp0012 12-14-2010, 04:03 PM McNabb played like crap against the Giants, and unfortunately, we didn't acquire him so he could play well in maybe up to have of our NFC East games, but that one bad game really overshadows a guy who has played a lot more like the old Donovan McNabb in the second half of the season than the guy we saw in the first half.
Still a horrible trade, but he's playing his best ball of the year right now.
I know this, our starting QB next year is either going to be McNabb or a guy not on this roster.
