CRedskinsRule 12-13-2010, 02:43 PM Here's my idea;
WR- pick up V.Jackson, TJ Houshmendzadeh, and either another FA or UFA.
Draft Round:
1- drop back for extra picks.
OL- draft a Center and RT.
DL/NT- draft
LB- draft.
FS- draft.
...
We could have a prime pick for teams wanting to trade up. That would be ideal if we can pull it off.

I'd then bring in UFA's for OL, DL, LB, FS, and WR. The team has serious thought to put into deciding on whether to keep McNabb or not. I'd probably let him go but I figure the team is going to keep him. But until they decide if Beck is the man or not or until they get another QB to replace McNabb I see McNabb staying.
Depending on how Alex Gibbs is health wise I'd also look into replacing Forester with Gibbs.
Didn't he retire because of age and health concerns? I think he's done. And besides, I'd like to see what Forester does with decent offensive linemen to work with, I doubt we're going to find a guy who can turn shit into gold.
SBXVII 12-13-2010, 02:57 PM Ok, can anyone validate these lists as being current?
2011 Free Agents....
WR- KFFL - 2011 NFL Free Agents (http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=WR&y=2011)
OL- KFFL - 2011 NFL Free Agents (http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=OL&y=2011)
DL- KFFL - 2011 NFL Free Agents (http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=DL&y=2011)
If it's up to date are there any FA's that will be available worth anything?
skinsfan69 12-13-2010, 03:24 PM I've been saying it a lot but Kelly and Big Mike Williams are major, major wild cards for this team. The Skins are high (pause for laughter) on both of them being major contributors/starters for the team. If they can come back healthy. Kelly is ready to go but per NFL rules couldn't play this year and Williams is on his way to a full recovery (supposedly).
If Kelly is ready to go, I wouldn't do anything to the receiving corps expect get Austin in the regular rotation and get Banks more involved. And re-sign Moss for another year. Kelly, Austin, Banks, Moss, and Armstrong isn't going to shock the world, but give me that for another year and focus on building other areas of the team first
:laughing2

I would love to see both those guys come back & be starters. I really think the o line has played fairly well of late w/what they have. If Lich (or Cook) can move to center & Big Mike comes back to start at RG, the LG position would be the only vacancy (assuming Dock is out). Of course more picks are needed to build some youth & depth, but I don't think the starting lineup is that far from being pretty decent.

He retired a week before the start of the season. Also, even if he came back, I remember reading somewhere that he and Shanahan had a falling out when Shanny wouldn't give Gibbs' son a job.
cdskins26 12-13-2010, 03:53 PM Draft Mallett or Locker and begin rebuilding with that. Upgrade both offensive and defensive lines and draft our number 1 receiver and running back next year. Free safety in round two.

I actually think you could leave the secondary alone for the time being. Pittsburgh doesn't have a great defensive backfield outside of Troy Polamalu. The rest of their DBs aren't exactly shut-down types.
They get away with it because the front seven is dynamite. That's where we need to concentrate. Get some pressure up front (without having to blitz) and our DBs will be okay.
Front seven definitely needs more attention at this point than the secondary.
SmootSmack 12-13-2010, 04:20 PM We need a NT and a DE, though I'm not sure either will be found with our pick in the first round. Maybe DE
