I think in watching Filthadelphia this year, Mcnabbs seems to lean on the RB Brian Westbrook to get going early with quick shortpasses, wheel plays and screens.....he seems to work them in early and then stretches the field out with T.O., but Westbrook seems to be the key...
What do you guys think the skins can do to stop Westbrook? He is so damn dangerous out the backfield. Last game he killed us with two TD's, eventhough he only had 45 receiving yards...
Maybe put Taylor or a freaking DB on him....but I think we will have more trouble with him then T.O.

I think Westbrook is more dangerous receiving that he is running against us. He's a solid player and I honestly have no idea what Williams will have in store for the Eagles. I wonder if Lavar will make it back against the Eagles?

Blitz every play and force Westbrook to block? ;)
They've got lots of weapons, and passing to Westbrook is super effective becuase of the attention TO and McNabb get. But if anyone can scheme for it, it's Williams. Our Safties will be very busy.
The real way to stop Westbrook and Philly is to ball control them off the field. If we can establish the run and score some points early, we can keep them off the field all together.

When was the last time Philly was really challenged and won this season? I mean down to the wire 4 quarters? Seems like other than the Pittsburg loss their games have been blowouts lately. (I know our game was a lot closer for most of the game. but the bottom line was that on the scoreboard it was a blowout.)
Just curious.

The way to stop Westbrook is this, you have to punish him everytime he has the ball he is not a durable runner if you get your hand's on him hold him up so other's can come in and really lay into him, that IMO is how to slow him down.

I'm with Offiss. He's like McNabb. See how bad McNabb played in the first half when we were beating him down? That's the key. This team is not very durable and let our defense hit on them. That being said, if our offense can keep theirs off the field, we can win. Have someone on westbrook all the time. He gets all his big yards with little dump passes in the flat/middle.

Keep their offense off the field and when they are on it make it painful, make it short lived.

I just heard on the Joe Gibbs radio show that Lavar was cleared to practice this week. Obviously it will be limited, but it's a good sign. Hopefully if he isn't back this week, we can have him against the 49ers and/or Cowboys. Keep your fingers crossed.

I think you've hit on the two keys to beating the Beagles. One is to keep McNabb and TO off the field for as long as possible. As stupid as it sounds, they can't beat you if they're sitting on the bench. Two is when they are on the field punish them. Make them hurt by the end of the first half. I'd like to see ST play headhunter a bit this game and explode on Westbrook, McNabb (on a couple blitzes), and TO (on some crossing routes). Give him a chance to really deliver a few bellringers to these guys, and I'll guarantee you they'll be thinking twice on every snap. BTW, it seemed to me that Armani Toomer was really timid about catching anything in the second half, especially in the middle of the field or when Taylor was nearby.

They beat Clevleand in OT. Pittsburgh beat them, other than that, I think we came the closest to any team.
