Big Al suspended for the remainder of seasonfirstdown 12-07-2010, 03:52 PM Haha. This team is a joke! Your the one with him as your Avator. Chico23231 12-07-2010, 03:57 PM Depends. I'm not exactly sure where AH's side is right now. As far as the Redskins mismanagement since the beginning of the season, this move merely beats the horse that died in August. Maybe it was the only move to shut him down for the year. You're 5-7. It's not a very strong statement. I think Daniels gave everyone insight to which side Albert been on from day 1 here...his own. I think the locker room perspective is probably one the fans rarely get to see...we sit here as does the media and speculate. I think Daniels kinda let us in. If Shanny does suspends without the Daniels rant, we sit here and say the "ego of this coaching staff" or "he cant handle the locker room"....but with Daniels coming out saying enough is enough and he is speaking for everybody, that holds alot of weight with me. I just dont think Albert defendable at this point SFREDSKIN 12-07-2010, 03:59 PM So does anyone still side with AH? Not me, I was against the signing at the time and wanted Chris Canty instead, I also mentioned what great FA signings and draft picks the Giants organization had made at that time, only to be ridiculed by people in this forum saying to go root for the Giants. By the way, I'm not pointing this towards you. Alvin Walton 12-07-2010, 04:07 PM Finally they axed this turd. Hall-a-freaking-loo-ya! AFAIC he's polluted the team and is partially responsible for the lousy season we are having. GTF outa DC fat boy! saden1 12-07-2010, 04:07 PM So does anyone still side with AH? We'll have to wait to see what that idiot pockets straight thinks. SolidSnake84 12-07-2010, 04:08 PM LEAVE ALBERT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Sorry guys that was my best chris crocker impression. And no i m kidding. I never was on AH's side... Paintrain 12-07-2010, 04:11 PM Depends. I'm not exactly sure where AH's side is right now. As far as the Redskins mismanagement since the beginning of the season, this move merely beats the horse that died in August. Maybe it was the only move to shut him down for the year. You're 5-7. It's not a very strong statement. For this season, no it's not a strong statement but from an organizational perspective it does signify that it's not the players, not the owner but the head coach who is running things. I don't think not having Haynesworth cost us any games nor did he win any games for us but this move signals a shift in what's happened over the past 12 years at Redskins Park. Lotus 12-07-2010, 04:12 PM So does AH become the biggest Redskins bust of all time? I kinda think so but wanted to get other opinions. Hard to say. We got a little more production from him than we did from, say, Archuleta. Not much, but a little. But we paid a lot more, of course. mlmdub130 12-07-2010, 04:12 PM I tend to drink a lot of KoolAid, so I know many will say I am being a ridiculous homer, but I understand and support the way this was handled. You have a rare talent, a guy who could be elite, but who, as Terl showed in his blog I quoted, also a guy who has given half a** attempts, and belittled nearly every coach and scheme he has had. I have no doubt that Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan would NOT have brought AH in. They didn't bring in Peppers, they didn't bring in VJax or TO or other possible headaches. So let's be clear on some facts: 1) AH was the past FO's hire, Not BA/MS 2) During MS' year off, he decided he was going to implement the 3-4 D wherever he goes, because it is in his eyes the better D. 3) AH has a level of talent, that when applied could be elite 4) AH never has had a full season where he applied himself game in and game out. 5) AH got a lot of money 6) MS told AH upfront that if he took the bonus, this is what was expected. 7) AH took the money 8) MS is the Head Coach 9) AH is not. I think those are the underlying facts, now, how you want to handle that situation, maybe it goes differently, but I doubt it. I think MS had to be tough and not give in, for the sake of the Team. I think giving away a talent like AH is a very difficult move, and the cost benefit analysis probably reflects the tough decision. For the right value I think you trade him, but for the wrong value, ie too little, why give another team his service this year? Sure you won't get much or anything now, but a 4th isn't a comparable trade value. So you really are stuck trying to make it work out in a situation where no one has a good reason to give ground. For culture purposes, this should put to rest any notion that the Skins are a come and not give effort type club. That's a good thing. I don't really care about the money - its not mine. I had hoped that AH would show up - he didn't. A 4-3 may have gotten us how many more wins? not enough to justify AH's behavior. If a defensive change was to be made - this was the year to do it. In the end, I just want the Redskins to make sane hiring decisions, the lunacy just needed to end. you said a lot in your post but the last sentence sums up the situation as a whole. i was just talkin with someone about all the big name free aganets we have come across in the past and everytime we thought we named them all we thought of another one. i'd say all in all this was the worst of them all but there are some very close runners up, i just hope he is the last, atleast for a year or two :cheeky-sm SFREDSKIN 12-07-2010, 04:13 PM Someone tweeted this on Adam S. website, I like the #1 pick but not VY. RT @Robertissogreat: during offseason, trade Vince Young & 1st rd pick to skins for mcnabb & haynesworth. EVERYBODY'S HAPPY! ... Not Tenn. |
