SBXVII 11-30-2010, 12:00 PM Since I'm late to the party I'm sure it's already been said but...
Maybe if Carlos "Hands" Rogers would support the team, perhaps the fans would support the team as well as him better.
I don't know why he can't read the tea leaves especially since he's been here so long, but after 10+ yrs of fans getting a crap sandwich I think fans have a reason to be a bit pessimistic until they now only see a steak in front of them but taste it also.
Carlos.... prove you and the team to include management deserve more then reserved fandom. As I recall after getting beat twice you conveniently left the game with an injury. Surely you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself more?
44ever 11-30-2010, 12:03 PM “We know we can have a great home-field advantage if we can give them something to cheer about,” inside linebacker London Fletcher said. “[Sunday] was a great opportunity to get our fans into the game and keep them into the game.”
Gotta love that guy (Fletcher). Tries to please the fans even while he's pleasing the fans!
As far as Rogers is concerned, we all say stupid things sometimes. Just start catching the ball man. Pretty Please, with 5 pats on the back. C'mon you can do it... Hopefully that works.
Yours truly,
Your new #1 Fan
SmootSmack 11-30-2010, 12:08 PM Maybe it's because the "passion" isn't there for other teams as it is for the Redskins, but of all the games I've been to in DC over the past few years (Redskins, Caps, Wizards, Nationals, United, even Mystics) I've never experienced booing quite so extreme as for the Redskins. And there have been some dud teams beyond just the Skins
aceinthehouse 11-30-2010, 12:22 PM Many here probably disagree, but I have a huge problem with Players taking Jabs at their fans...
haven't had a chance to explain why I think this,so here I go.
I understand players get frustrated. I've played football all my life (not around 80K+ fans) but I've heard the boos and cheers from my end.
I was a pretty good player,I will admit.
I had great games and bad games.
I've played on an undefeated team before and I've played on below .500 teams.
I've blown up at the coach before1 time during a game(ONE TIME)...I've walked off the practice field in disgust....
(I played many positions in my time as a player)
But there are two things I've never done as a football player in the 15+ years I played (including semi-pro)
I've never yelled out to a player on the team and placed blame and I've never yelled at the fans or blamed them for how they felt the game was going or any rude jesters I may have heard.
Why?
--------------------
I was always way to focused on the game at the time,to worry about anything else.
Not just on my responsibilities, but how I personally could help the team or make an impact on winning. That's all that mattered and was all that was important to me..winning!
And when WE didn't win and/or I played a bad game or didn't come up huge in a game....ALL the blame was on me and why I didn't play better.
...and the one time I blew up at the coach as I mentioned earlier, was because in a big game...the long snapper hiked the ball over my head as I was standing on the Goalline to Punt for Safety. (and I'm 6'2" and can jump) and did so many games throughout the season.
I'm talking one handed grabs in the air from jumping, then to set my feet and Punt. It was crazy that season..he was that bad. (Should have won MVP for the year on that alone) Not to mention,I still averaged 43.4 yards as well on top of that for the year.
But I never yelled at the Center (long snapper) but I was pissed coming over to the sidelines and yelled at the coach "get me a Bleeping Center!" out of frustration. (long snapper did not hear that) as I was trotting back to the field to Punt the ball on the Kickoff.
Only time I ever yelled at any coach I ever had. (I saw this coming and nothing was done about it,to prevent that catastrophe) So I blew up...
This worked well for me though,as I went back out to play Eagle/Arkansas Linebacker on Defense though...:)
I guess the point I'm trying to make is...
I understand these guys are on radio shows, interviews and whatever...
But I find it very sad, that of all the problems the Redskins have...and all the things that Carlos could and should be doing...be it working out...watching game film to get better....working on his *new* contract as he will be a free agent....hanging out with friends or being with his girlfriend/wife...
That the one thing on his mind,is the treatment towards him/team by the fan base, that is not happy with the way things are going.
So instead of just trying to improve and get better and help the Washington Redskins win,he needs to find some kind of blame elsewhere.
This tells me...that carlos is a very mentally weak individual.
I would not want this guy on my team.
I don't want ANYONE like that on my team.
Because if you are blaming the fans, then I'm sure you are going to blame your teammates and so on...At least from my perspective.
That's a bad teammate who has no accountibility or humility...
He's also probably not the only person who is like this...
If Shanny has the same mindset that I do....
Carlos will not be wearing the Burgundy and Gold next season. (nor will many others)
have too...to change this culture around gentleman...
This destroys teams...
Longtimefan 11-30-2010, 12:23 PM ^^TBH, I don't think it's the booing that has become the major concern. Some are saying the fan experience at Fed Ex is becoming one of the worst in professional football. It's the behavior aside from the booing that has people concerned.

Really can't stand Carlos anymore, he really pisses me off. I never boo the team or anything, but it's easy to see why the fans get pissed off, two winning seasons at home in 10 years, absolutely pathetic. If he could catch the ball we'd probably have one more win at home this season.
I'm not going to lie, I hate paying 4K seeing 4-12 performances.
No one is dragging you out of your house to go over there. Carlos makes some good points. A lot of the fans go overboard with some of the things they say. Fans do have the right to boo but to yell insults is taking it too far.
The way people were blowing up Riley's Twitter account is good evidence of fans taking things too far.

Well said...I totally agree.
