Bonjour Messieurs et Mesdames !
I am a french fan of the Redskins and probably of the very few ones in France because American Football is not very well known here (believe me when I say that you won't meet a lot of guys wearing Redskins gears in Paris!)
At first, I'd like to say that I really appreciate to read your posts in this forum. Your comments are full of deep and true passion and I can feel it here in France ! The analysis from Gtripp and others really help me to understand better this fascinating sport and make me love this game even more than the european soccer !
I am opening this first new thread because I will come to Washington at the beginning of January and I would like to know how I can get a ticket for the Giants VS Redskins game on january the 2nd ?
I learned some informations talking about a waiting list of many years ? How could it be possible? Are all of the tickets already sold ?
Thank you advance for your informations

the easiest way for you to get tickets would be through stubhub.com or straight through nfl.com. you pay a little more since they mark up the prices, but for you it would make it a little easier than trying to barter on craigslist.com. it shouldn't be to hard to find some. i just bought my father two tickets in the club level for about $200 each for the vikings game. i would strongly suggest club level tickets especially if it's a one time deal it will be worth it in the end, especially in january. good luck getting tix. httr

I agree try one of the methods mentioned above. The whole wait list thing is waaaay over-blown, there are always tickets available.

So how long of a drive is it to the stadium from their? Will you stay the night or drive home after the game?

Try to get on line and go to a place called Big Blue Travel....they have packages for the Giants(tickets included) and handle flights also, as someone else said try stub hub or even Giants.com

Thanks for those informations. I will try to get the ticket following your websites. I knew I could count on you!
@mlmdub130. Sacrebleu ! Sapristi ! Bordel de merde ! (damned!) 200 USD for a game ticket! But you're right, this is a one time deal, so it will worth it. Hopefully for me, Euro is a strong currency right now!
@firstdown. I got some family living in Fairfax County, VA but I think it is not so close to Fedexfield. I think that the best is to use the public transportation like metro. Looks to be 1h far from the stadium.
I just hope that the transportation are not the mess as they can be in France.
Knowing that the game begins at 1:00 PM, I guess it would be wise to arrive 2 hours earlier !

1. Check on the game time a week before the game. The NFL can - - and often does - - move 1:00 games to 4:15 if the game has a national interest. If the Giants are playing for the NFC East title, the game MIGHT be moved to the late slot. Given the weather in January, you do not want to arrive at Fed Ex in time for a 1:00 game and wait there with your thumb up your butt for a 4:15 game.
2. If you are driving to the game, be prepared to pay a bundle to park your car and leave PLENTY of time to get through traffic.
3. After the game, do not schedule anything where you have to meet someone back in DC or anywhere in Northern Virginia for at least 2 houras after the game is over. That is how long it can take for you to get out of the stadium and back to those areas.
4. Wear lots of warm clothing. Washington in January is colder than France in January.
5. Enjoy...
